James is a fully qualified tutor with many years experience in teaching conducting and choir training skills for the Association of British Choral Directors, Sing Ireland (Association of Irish Choirs) and Roehampton University MA Choral Education, as well as privately.
Tutoring and mentoring is available for Conductors and Music Leaders at all levels, covering all aspects of choral education practice, including:

James is a conductor, choral clinician and adjudicator. Director of ChoirFixer Limited, fixing professional ensembles for the entertainment and advertising industries. Formerly chief choral advisor for the BBC’s sheet music archives, has delivered projects for the BBC Singers Education Department and regularly conducts and prepares choirs for broadcasts on TV and Radio. Musical Director for Chantage (winners of the Malta International Choral Competition 2015 and the BBC Radio 3 Choir of the Year Competition 2006), the Chandos Chamber Choir, Amici Cantate, Halstead Choral and Ipswich School Chapel Choir. Tutor for the Cranleigh Choral Week, Dart Festival Chorus and the Capella Chamber Choir course for the Sherborne Summer School of Music. Member of the Council of Practitioners of the Association of British Choral Directors (ABCD) and conducting tutor for the ABCD and Association of Irish Choirs.
