Guitar lessons for beginners to advanced players in electric, acoustic or classical styles! Lessons are tailored to meet your experience and interests. I also teach music theory, ear training, improvisation and composing techniques. I'm a professional guitar teacher (BA) and film composer (MA).

Learning to play the guitar by yourself can be overwhelming. In my classes students go through all the necessary steps to master the fundamental guitar techniques while learning well known songs and classical pieces. Lessons are private and are adjusted to each students individual needs.

This class will be about learning fundamentals of music and a guitar by learning songs! The topics we can discuss in the lessons will be - Learning tunes (Pop, Folk and Rock to Jazz Standards) - Improvisation - Composing - Theory (harmony, meter, tempo, form, key, scales) - Ear training (developing to recognise different intervals, scales, chord progression and being able to sight-sing) If requested, we can talk about other musical topics, too! such as which pedals we should buy!! :-)

Music is so powerful, and learning to play an instrument even slightly fluently can open a whole other part of your life that can remain in the shadows. Ask any performer! :) It has huge benefits for social, personal, mental and physical health - you can lift peoples moods, and lose your self in beautiful meditation. My tutoring is tailor made for the individual's needs - the main area to cover are the little steps you take to get addicted to practicing, so that you can play without thinking. Along the way we can talk about units e.g. to cover specific styles, like classical, jazz or pop to improvising, reading music and learning some music you love. All it takes is a little patience and the world will change for you.

I am studying Bachelor Pop Guitar at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I can help you in different matters, such as performance, ear training or music theory. All the aspects will be link together in order to learn effectively! In my guitar lessons, we will develop your skills in the instrument to get a better and more personal tone, and feel more confident when improvising or playing in different styles. We will get there by learning songs, scales, chords, different techniques and putting all of them together. I can also help you in songwriting, which I personally think that is a beautiful way to learn and apply the things we learn. I can teach online or in student's location in Amsterdam or in Almere. Hey! My name is Richard and I give private lessons to all levels. For guitar, it is important that you can improve yourself in a pleasant environment in a fun way where your interests are central. Do you want to delve deeper into a certain style? Do you want to create your own sound on your guitar using amps, and pedals, ...? I can help you with all that! Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;) I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example. The lessons would take place at my home in Mol or via webcam. If necessary, we can always agree on something else. Folk or classical acoustic guitar. The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation.
