Hi, I'm Axel,

I have been working as a private French tutor for five years. As a native speaker of French with a first-class degree in French Literature from Le Mirail University of Toulouse. I moved to Glasgow 7 years ago to work as a visual artist.

I have a wealth of experience tutoring a wide range of people of all levels, from beginners to university students. I therefore possess a thorough understanding of the learning process and the specific difficulties students can face. Consequently, I have developed efficient methods of overcoming these on an individual basis. In my tutorials, I believe learning is most effective when it happens in a relaxed and comfortable environment. I therefore focus on engaging with students in a friendly manner making my lessons as interactive as they should be.

In addition to my degree, I am a qualified youth group leader with extensive experience teaching drama and art to children in schools and different institutions. I have worked as a customer service agent for 4 years in London before moving here perfecting my level of formal English. Furthermore I am a recent fine art graduate able to adapt my lessons to a more creative/visual learner.

I offer 1 hour sessions. I'm also happy to discuss longer sessions.
I also offer group tuition, which has many educational benefits - please contact me if you would like to discuss this.

I can travel anywhere within the Glasgow city area and can meet with students in their homes, or in a cafe/library. I am also happy to teach on zoom depending on your availability.

French is a tricky but wonderful language to master. As a native speaker, and a student specialized on languages and history, I prepare my students/pupils with the simple idea of improvement whatever their level.

I expect enthusiam and work from my partner in learning. Given this, my class will focus on all dimensions on language mastering.

French is a difficult language, certainly, but it is a very beautiful language. I therefore propose to give you lessons to improve your level. The courses I propose combine written practice and oral practice which will allow you to progress as quickly as possible.

I lived for almost 15 years in Paris (in a French family) and defended my doctoral thesis in philology and literature at the Sorbonne University.
French became my first professional language and second native language.

Student in an engineering school in France, I come to do my last year in exchange in Glasgow. Having already taught mathematics for private lessons, I will be able to adapt to your learning needs.
Having learned English (level C1), Spanish (level B2 in writing, C1 in oral) and having notions of Portuguese, I am used to working languages and have a good knowledge of effective methods.
