Swiss German can be very different from standard German, and many people who move to Switzerland find it difficult to understand daily conversations.
As a native Swiss speaker, I help students learn how Swiss German is actually spoken in everyday life. My lessons focus on practical communication so that you can feel comfortable speaking with colleagues, friends, and locals.
I grew up in Switzerland in a multilingual environment. Swiss German is my mother tongue, and I completed my high school education bilingually in German and French. Later, I studied in the United Kingdom and now work professionally in English in the medical field.
Because of my work in international environments and as a ski instructor teaching people from all over the world, I am used to explaining things clearly and adapting my lessons to each student.

Hi, I'm Evita. I grew up in Switzerland in a multilingual environment where languages were always a natural part of daily life. Swiss German is my mother tongue, and I completed my high school education bilingually in German and French. Later, I moved to the United Kingdom where I completed my university studies entirely in English.

Today I also work professionally in English in the medical field, communicating with people from many different countries and backgrounds. Because of this international environment, I understand how important it is not only to learn a language but to feel confident actually speaking it in real-life situations.

Alongside my professional career, I have several years of experience teaching and working with people from all over the world. As a private ski instructor in Switzerland, I teach both children and adults from different countries, which has given me strong communication and teaching skills. I am used to adapting my explanations and lessons to each student so that learning feels natural, clear, and enjoyable.

My teaching style is relaxed, motivating, and practical. I focus on helping students improve their speaking confidence, pronunciation, and vocabulary that is useful in everyday life. Every lesson is adapted to the student’s level, goals, and learning style.

I studied in Berlin, Paris, and Bristol, and later completed my bachelor’s degree Switzerland in French (C2 – native level). I also hold two EF diplomas in English (C2 – native) and German (B2). Hello! 안녕세요! My name is Aki and I will soon graduate with a bachelor's degree in "Korean Studies" at Leiden University, part of which I spent at Sogang University in South Korea. During my studies, I mainly focus on pronunciation and conversation. However, during my stay in Korea, I noticed a big difference between "textbook Korean" and the Korean that people speak in everyday life. In my lessons, I try to keep this difference as small as possible and make it sound as natural as possible by focusing on conversations and modern vocabulary. We work with grammar, vocabulary and conversations around an overarching theme.
Although I have a basic package for beginners, I find it very important to look at the goals of the student. If you have specific goals or suggestions such as understanding K-pop songs, K-dramas or achieving Topik level 1-2, ... then I will gladly put together a personal package with matching themes that we will cover together.

I also assign essays that will be corrected together along with explanations, as well as homework, depending on your desired intensity.
