The course is essentially based on the student's program, and the session takes place in two parts: - The first part is devoted to assimilate the course; - The second is dedicated to applying the course knowledge in exercises and examples. Hello, this is a relatively simple class to help people who are studying National 5s, Highers, and their english equivalents. As we all know, this subject can be extremely difficult for many, and it is the responsibility of those who can to help out where possible. This class would, in a case-by-case basis, go over what the student is struggling with in class, and try to find a way that is easily understandable (A learning experience for all, so to speak), and, every couple of weeks, I will set the student to complete set questions from an exam past paper, and mark it myself before going over it with them. Obviously, if there any questions or suggestions, you parents (And fellow tutors who can probably see this) can let me know - As I said, a learning experience for all. As for myself, it would not be far-fetched to say I am qualified: Though I struggled through my National 5 for Physics, barely passing in fact, with enough time and effort - Plus a very good Teacher and a very good Tutor - I was able to get an A in my Higher Physics exams. A preparation for a test can be stressful as well the understanding of so many formulas. I have organized this course to help students to get the necessary tools to overcome a possible science test. We will focus in a method to solve problem in math and physics by understanding the concept of it. Than we will study the meaning of the formulas needed and how to apply them. I am an aeronautical engineer and I am well aware of the frustration of not achieving the desired academic results. I was here. A lot of times. I find it very satisfying to teach and to see how my students achieve their goals. I sincerely believe that learning is a privilege and a pleasure. It is my top priority that my students feel this. My level of mathematics, physics and engineering is very competent. Although of course, for very specific topics or doubts, I will have to analyze whether I am able to teach lessons with ease or not. For students who have difficulty I analyze the root of learning problems. And, above all, I try to motivate them. An ideal lesson time would be distributed as follows: 20 minutes question and answer and start from these gaps, 30 minutes to advance, 10 minutes lateral thinking. Beyond these general lines, there is no rule or magic method. Some things work with some students and not with others. Adapting to needs is really the goal of private lessons. So I will do my best to find what motivates and helps my student.

I have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and currently I work as a post-doctoral researcher in Aerospace Engineering Faculty of TU Delft (Delft University of Technology). I am specialized (>5 years of experience) in tutoring math for school (any level, but preferably higher level), including competitive exams such as the SAT, GRE, GMAT, and the IIT-JEE. This class is aimed to train 1) high-school students undergoing VWO or an IB curriculum, who are having problems following math at school or university, 2) Anyone who wishes to take the VWO Math-A/B/C entrance examinations by Boswell or CCVX and wants to train for that. Personally, I am currently working as a Quantitative Researcher of stock markets, and therefore analytical math is also a part of my job.
