My name is Itziar Pla-Garde and I am the Spanish Language Coordinator at ELINQUA. I have been teaching Spanish for more than 12 years, in person and online to people all over the world. Since 2012 I have worked in Elinqua.

Education

I have a bachelor degree in Sociology and a Spanish teaching certificate from the University of Barcelona. Our classes are very dynamic and fully customized to your needs. You can choose between learning 1 on 1 or in small private groups.

To know a language is to be able to speak it. Too often, we do not learn vocabulary lists and grammar rules, without being able to utter a single word. This does not interest me!
My goal when I learn a language is to speak it, to communicate, to be able to fend for myself without the aid of a translator, and to learn through the language the mysteries of culture.
When I exercise my role as a teacher, I always have these same goals in mind. I therefore base my courses in a communicative approach that aims to be able to talk and share since the first class. For this I use role plays, scenarios, dialogues and other exercises related to the reality of the learner.

Your age doesn't matter! I welcome everyone. If you have kids I can accompany them during play time to speak in the language as well. I also do accompaniment of adults to real life settings, brining the language to life. For example I can accompany you to the supermarket or the pharmacy etc and we speak in English or Spanish to bring your language learning to life. Languages open the door to opportunities.
