I am from Uruguay and speak the corresponding regional dialect. This is irrelevant for students who are in need of written tutoring however, for students willing to learn to speak Spanish as it is spoken in Spain, it might be a problem as there are certain differences. It is important to add that all dialects are valid in a professional and academic setting and that dialects have no hierarchy.

Dear future student,

My name is Bernardo and I am an international university student, currently finishing my Bachelor's degree in International Studies at Leiden University. Being born in Uruguay and having lived in Kenya, Germany, and the Netherlands I had the privilege to learn multiple languages and experience the corresponding cultures. Learning a language goes beyond learning the precise grammatical structure of it, learning a language means getting to know new cultural customs and traditions. The cultural aspect is what makes a new language attractive as it opens doors to an unexplored world.
