Creative Writing & Storytelling Sessions — All levels

I offer creative writing sessions for teenagers and adults, suitable for complete beginners as well as writers who already have written work (short stories, scripts, monologues, poems, etc.) and would like feedback, structure and discussion.
These sessions focus on storytelling and the creative process, using writing exercises, prompts and conversation to help develop ideas into characters, worlds and scenes, with the option to edit or rewrite existing texts.
My approach is practical and flexible, focused on helping each writer find their own voice rather than following rigid formulas. I have a postgraduate degree in Storytelling and have published a book, as well as essays in magazines and newspapers, and continue to work on scriptwriting projects. Alongside writing, I work as an actress, which strongly informs my approach to character, voice and dialogue.
Sessions are available in English or Portuguese, online or in person in Lisbon, in a café or similar relaxed space, and are always adapted to each student’s level and interests.

Olá! I'm Maria, a passionate Portuguese native currently living in Lisbon. I am fluent in English and have a diverse background in the arts, which enriches my teaching approach. As an actress trained at the William Esper Studio in New York, I bring creativity and enthusiasm to my lessons.
With experience as a private tutor in both English and Portuguese, as well as being a drama teacher for children, I tailor my classes to meet the unique needs of each student. I’m deeply passionate about art, reading, photography, cinema, theatre, and music.
I offer Portuguese and English lessons, as well as acting lessons, helping students gain confidence in their craft. In addition to teaching, I also dedicate my time to writing and pursuing my acting career.
