I am a passionate and experienced saxophone teacher who has honed a highly efficient and patient approach to music instruction. I am motivated and pro-active and enjoy working with people to reach their goals. Alongside making sure that whatever goals the student has in mind are achieved, my main focus is making sure that each lesson is enjoyable and to ensure that we have a consistent level of communication (with the student or parent) to figure out the best approach for both of us. Most importantly, I aim to make the lessons fun. I have experience teaching all ages and abilities. Whether you're a total beginner or someone who wants to continuing their learning, I'm happy to help. I have experience with entering students for exams, if that is something you'd like to do. I've have a BMus Hons in Jazz Saxophone and am a performer as well as a teacher. I can cover: - Playing the saxophone for the first time - Improvisation (on all instruments asides from saxophone) - Technique - Theory and harmony - Playing in different styles Please get in touch if you have any questions! Music has accompanied me since early childhood. I started playing the flute when I was five and the saxophone when I was nine. After gaining a lot of experience in big bands, funk/soul bands, rock bands and other projects, my interests culminated in studying jazz and saxophone at the Maastricht Conservatory, which I successfully completed in 2021. In the classes we will address the different elements that make up music in different styles, knowing the particular language of each one. To do this, we will work on the different tools that we have with each instrument at the level at which each one is. We all know music but many times they make us believe that no, that it is necessary to know how to read and write. That is the graphic part of the language that we will learn little by little, music is a compendium of many other things. Some that we already know and others to know. We will study the use of the keys and the positions of the clarinet, or the sax, the best way to position ourselves whether we play standing or sitting, the most efficient way to use the air, the diaphragm, the muscles. We will learn to form a good embouchure and we will develop a study method adapted to each one, according to their tastes, possibilities and interests.
