Professional singer holding a Master Degree in vocal jazz and a Post-Master Teaching Degree at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels gives private singing lessons open to all ages and all levels.
I am specialized in jazz, but I am open to different genres from salsa to pop music. My goal is to keep my students challenged, but not overwhelmed. If you are an absolute beginner, don't worry, no previous experience is required nor reading music. I have always been passionate about music, I play three instruments, and I recently finished my piano studies at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in the class of Piet Kuijken. I am Thijs (30) an experienced drummer and musician, with a wide range of musical interests. Studying jazz drums under the wings of Lander Gyselinck at the KASK/Conservatory in Ghent. In addition, I have followed masterclasses and lessons from/with Joey Baron (US), Kendrick Scott (US), Corey Fonville (US) and Stéphane Galland (BE). I am also active in various bands/groups.

My lessons, depending on the level, focus on both the fundamental building blocks of drumming and music as a whole. These building blocks together with the student's interests form the curriculum, so that it meets the student's wishes as best as possible. I also teach music theory/music theory. Some aspects of this are also offered during drum lessons.

Lessons in piano, harpsichord, and historical and modern cello, with program and repertoire, adapted to the goals and speed of each student, whether young, not so young, or adult, for a general introduction to these instruments, for preparation for high music education, as a supplementary aid for exams in music academies, or for a hobby, or for amateur group music-making, or for developing qualities as concentration, coordination, discipline, expressibility, awareness of styles and music history.
In my teaching, I rely mostly on old traditional methods, books, and repertoire, which have proved their efficiency over the time. I also make use of the teaching tradition of partimenti of the old Neapolitan conservatories - exercises for composing that can be applied from early stage. This not only adds a creative element soon after very beginning, but also teaches via practice the basics of harmony and polyphony.
Lessons can be combined (+30min.) with theory/solfege (ear training), if the student wishes.

A seasoned and passionate musician since the age of 15, I gave my first lessons more than 10 years ago.
