As a fully trained language teacher(taking a teacher training course for 4+1 years ), I have always loved the art of teaching language and communication. I also took some course in Developmental Psychology and Learning Psychology.

My main goal is to make my lessons as informative and fun as possible. Students always will be the centre of my class, I always listen to their need and trouble when they learn Chinese.

Hello, my name is Jingwen and I come from Shanghai, China. For almost 5 years, I teach Chinese Mandarin for young and old. I had the pleasure of teaching my language to young children (from 2 years old, foreign language immersion or from 6 years old, traditional language lessons alone or in groups) as adults (complete remedies or beginners). I'm a Confucius Institute (the ONLY globally recognized official institution for teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages) certified Mandarin teacher.

I'm also an official YCT (Youth Chinese Test)/ HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test)/ HSKK (Chinese Proficiency Spoken Test) test examiner.

In addition to giving private lessons, I also teach Chinese at international schools and lead Mandarin immersion Spielgruppe (playgroup) in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. My speciality is teaching children between the age of 2.5 and 12 in an immersive and interactive learning environment. By means of guided game-playing, painting, story-reading, drama activities, song-singing, dancing, and handcraft-making, kids achieve organic language acquisition while having a lot of fun.

The predominant features you will find in my class are tailor-made teaching materials and methods that are customized to best suit your specific study objectives (Preschooler Chinese, K-12 Chinese, YCT, HSK, Beginner Chinese, Conversational Chinese, Business Chinese...etc.).

As a language learner myself (B.A. major in Spanish and currently studying German), I have great patience and willingness to help you on your journey towards Chinese proficiency, because I know how frustrating it could get at times. Being in the shoes of a linguistics student for years also enables me to better instruct you, as I understand very well what are the things a learner would find helpful.

I’ve been teaching languages for over 6 years, with more than 3,000 lessons and 400 students worldwide. I specialize in Spanish, English, and Mandarin Chinese, and I adapt every class to your goals, level, and learning style. I use a comparative method (Chinese-Spanish) so that you can quickly understand the logic of the language, without boring memorization.
