Welcome to my space! As a Venezuelan native enriched by London’s corporate world, I now share the joy of language under Spain’s sunny skies. Education

With over 25 years in corporate finance, my journey as a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) has imbued me with deep insights into in-house training and financial intricacies. This extensive exposure laid the foundation for my foray into education and training.

Furthering my expertise, I pursued an MBA in Entrepreneurship from a UK university. This program offered me a comprehensive understanding of startup operations, from inception to execution, enriching my business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit.

Integrating this business knowledge and experience, I completed a CPD in Instructional Design alongside a specialized training in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. This unique combination of skills enables me to offer an exceptional learning experience, blending practical business insights with effective language education techniques.

My approach in language teaching is thus not just academically sound but also infused with real-world business and entrepreneurial knowledge. This holistic perspective ensures that my students are not only language proficient but also gain valuable insights into business and entrepreneurship, making their learning journey both enriching and practical.

I started my career as an English language teacher in 2008 and soon became very passionate about language learning and teaching. This culminated in a Masters degree in second-language acquisition and a CELTA Certificate from Dundee College. I specialised in Trinity and Cambridge exams and also in conversational English for practical and everyday use.

After many years overseas, both teaching and examining English, I have returned to Spain and am available to share my extensive experience and expertise in all aspects of English. I currently work as an Aviation teacher in a school in Alicante where I have taught for some years.

My teaching approach is student-centred and communicative, where learning is a positive experience in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. All my students are encouraged to speak as much as possible to increase fluency. Professionalism, patience and a good sense of humour guaranteed!

All lesson materials are provided free of charge. I teach using a mixture of coursebook material , whiteboard presentations, listening activities, video clips and general speaking practice.

While my classes are 100% in English, I can also speak Spanish and some Italian words. This gives me a real insight as to why students make certain mistakes, and how to best avoid them. I really enjoy teaching and helping people improve and grow in confidence.

I teach phonetics, reading, writing, listening and conversation skills from beginner to advanced.

Rather than striving to pass a test, I aim to help each person to feel supported to express themselves with confidence, so they have a solid foundation upon which to build from. There are many students who can pass a test, but can't actually speak English with confidence. My teaching style worls the other way around - we learn to speak confidently and then focus on passing a test.

My teaching materials include online games, fun cartoon grammar video classes, singing songs, playing music, writing worksheets, colourful story books and interesting research articles for the more advanced students.

I help students to prepare for ILETS examinations and interview practice through role playing - we learn by doing and not simply by reading or grammar. I love talking with my students, so I aim to bring out that side in them too.

I'm a native British tutor with over 20 years of tutoring experience. I first began tutors GCSE subjects to students in the UK when I was finishing my PhD. Tutoring has always been my passion because I love seeing students see how easy it actually is to learn a topic, when they are shown how to learn it in a fun and easy to understand manner.

When I was a Management Consultant in the corporate sector for 16 years prior to making a career change to pursue my childhood passion of teaching, we didn't hire people who had the best grades - we hired people who were effective leaders, had critical thinking and analysis skills, and demonstrated creative problem solving skills.

I aim to help a student to build these skills through gentle enquiry, fun conversations, interactive games and teaching topics from a real life perspective via role plays when appropriate.

We learn by doing, not by thinking alone.
