Hello! I'm Yu-Min, a professional jazz guitarist currently studying at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel (KCB). Before coming to Belgium, I obtained my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Jazz Performance in Taiwan.

I offer personalized guitar lessons for students of all levels—from complete beginners to advanced players who want to dive deep into jazz improvisation.

What you can expect from my classes:
1. For Beginners: Learn the basics of strumming, chords, and playing your favorite songs in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
2. For Intermediate/Advanced: Deep dive into harmony, scales, improvisation techniques, and jazz standards.
3. Music Theory: Understanding how music works to unlock your creativity on the fretboard.

Every student is unique, so I tailor my curriculum to your personal goals and musical tastes. Whether you want to play Jazz, Pop, Blues, or Funk, I'm here to guide you.

Hello! I am Yu-Min, a dedicated jazz guitarist and music educator currently based in Brussels. My musical journey began in Taiwan and has brought me to the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel (KCB) to further refine my craft.

I believe that learning music should be a fun and rewarding experience. As a teacher, I am patient, encouraging, and adaptable. I don't just teach you how to play; I help you understand why music works the way it does.

Whether you are a beginner picking up the guitar for the first time or an advanced player looking to explore jazz improvisation, I would love to be part of your musical journey. I teach in both English and Mandarin Chinese.

I have 15 years of experience as a professional musician with more than 40 recorded albums and concerts around the world. I have played many different musical styles and have a formal education: Bachelor in Jazz percussion at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, NL. My lessons focus on a complete basis (technique, "sound", tempo, vocabulary of the music) to be able to play different musical styles. Depending on the wishes of the student, however, the lesson may be more specific.

Have you always wanted to learn to play the piano but don't know where to start? Do you already have a musical background and want to refine your piano skills or music theory knowledge? Or are you an advanced player who wants to delve deeper? I offer piano and music theory lessons.

In my piano lessons, I work with each student to discover their musical personality. Depending on their preferences, the emphasis is on jazz and improvisation or on classical music, supplemented with the necessary music theory. I always try to accommodate the tempo and needs of each individual student. Enjoyment is paramount. I teach all ages.

Giovanna raised and formed in Florence, where she began her guitar studies at the age of five at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole. In September, she graduated cum laude and she's currently enrolled in the Master’s program at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, studying with Antigoni Goni.

Winner of many international competitions, she performed plenty of times in Italy and in 2023 she has held a solo concert in Milan for the XXXVIII Società Umanitaria's concerts season. Next to renowned guitarists, such as Luigi Attademo and Giorgio Albiani, she performed the world premiere of Álvaro Company’s Concert Català for ten guitars, in the revision by Vincenzo Saldarelli.

Alongside her performing activity, Giovanna has developed a strong dedication to teaching adults, children, and teenagers. She tailors each learning path to the individual student, carefully balancing personal interests with technical and artistic development, whether for amateur musicians or students preparing for conservatory admission. Her teaching approach places particular emphasis on physical awareness and well-being, guiding students toward healthy and efficient use of the body while playing. Music theory is fully integrated into her lessons and is always connected to practical application on the instrument.
