Spanish as a Second Language: Language, Literature, Cinema, and Hispanic Culture
Hi! My name is Armando, and I am a native Spanish speaker from Cuba. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Spanish at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), where I also teach Spanish language and Hispanic culture courses. My lessons are designed for learners of all levels — from complete beginners to advanced students. What makes my classes unique is that I combine Spanish language instruction with a strong focus on Hispanic literature, cinema, and culture. This allows you not only to improve your grammar, vocabulary, and fluency but also to gain a deeper understanding of the richness and diversity of the Spanish-speaking world. In our lessons you will: • Practice oral and written communication in Spanish. • Learn vocabulary and grammar in context. • Explore literary texts and films adapted to your level. • Discover cultural aspects that will enrich your learning experience. Each lesson is personalized: whether you are preparing for exams, need Spanish for work, are traveling, or simply want to deepen your cultural knowledge, I will adapt the material to your goals.
