I offer private cello lessons to people of all ages and levels. As the principle cello teacher at the International School Utrecht, I have a lot of experience with young people and love to encourage creativity from a young age .

During a lesson, I like to focus on playing and aim to have my students making music as quickly as possible. I incorporate a lot of chamber music into my lessons, developing a sense of fun and freedom in my students.

This class is suitable for anyone with the desire to make music!

I am a British/ Dutch musician currently living in Utrecht. Alongside performing, I have been giving private cello lessons at the International School since 2018 and am now hoping to expand into giving private lessons from my home in Utrecht.

My goal is to spread the joy of cello playing and encourage creativity from a young age!

Dear violin lovers! I'm a violin teacher for 10 years now, I have been teaching in Portugal and the Netherlands. My lessons can be given in English, Portuguese, French or Spanish.

Playing the violin is my passion, especially when I can pass on my knowledge and love for music to my students of all ages and levels.

I work as a team with you, finding the right method that fit your needs. What is important for me is to work on a good connection with the instrument and find the right basis for the start of your violin playing.
In my violin lessons, I would like also to share with you my musical knowledge, show you recordings of great violin players, prepare with you pieces that you always wanted to play and give you the tools so you can achieve your goals in music. I like to share the general knowledge of violin playing as well as basic and intermediate music theory lessons so you can enter in the world of music, but especially to have fun!!

My lessons can be shared between violin and theory together depending on what you are looking for.

The lessons will be at my house if you are in need of an instrument we can find one for you!

I did my Bachelor at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with the teachers Maria Milstein and Eliot Lawson and completed my Masters in Performance degree with excellency as well in Amsterdam under the guidance of Liviu Prunaru and Mathieu van Bellen while studying baroque violin with Shunske Sato.

I have my own violin class in Amsterdam, and I love teaching.

He was born in 1994 in Granada (Spain) and starts his musical studies with the violin when he was 7 years old. The following year he continues his musical education with the violoncello and teacher Arantza Hernáez. Later he takes lessons from Ignacio Perbech and Ignacio Navarro.
At the age of 15 he enters the Conservatorio Profesional Ángel Barrios, where he takes lessons from Alberto Martos, Jeremías Sanz Ablanedo and Óscar Faus.
Later he graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid (RCSMM) in the class of maestro Ángel García Jermann.
He has been a member during several years of the Joven Orquesta Sinfónica de Granada (JOSG), Orquesta de la Universidad de Granada (OUGR), for which he received a grant, Orquesta Barroca de la Basílica de San Juan de Dios de Granada, Orquesta Sinfónica de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid (OSUCM), Orquesta de Cámara Joaquín Turina de Madrid (OCJT), Orquesta Filarmonía de Granada (OFG), String, Symphonic and Classic Orchestras of the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid (RCSMM), Orquesta Santa Cecilia de Madrid, Francigena Festival Orchestra, between others. In 2016, he wins first prize in the Jesús de Monasterio contest, with Cuarteto Quiroga and Josep Colom acting as judges, playing in his string quartet, the Cuarteto Bran. This cuartet was chosen to play that same year in the Auditorio Nacional, and as prize did a tour of concerts in the Teatros el Canal in 2016. In that same year 2016, he is a founding member of the chamber group Animus iocandi, displaying intense activity. In 2017, he wins a special mention with his string quartet Cuarteto Gayarre in the contest Jesús de Monasterio. He is a founding member, together with Valentín Rejano García, of the Dúo Babylon, with which he gives various recitals in the province of Granada. Founding member of several Vionloncello ensembles, with which he gives concerts in the province of León and the city of Zutphen. He is chosen in the Zutphen Cello Festival 2017 to give a solo violoncello recital in the St. Elisabeth Chapel of Zutphen. He has been a participating member of the contemporary music festival COMA17 in Madrid. He was selected to play in an event for the Global Treaty of the UN in 2017 in Madrid. He takes part in the 2018 Francigena Festival.
He participated in several occasions as a soloist with orchestra in the Auditorio Medina Elvira of Granada, in the Centro Cultural Sara Montiel of Madrid, and in various churches. He has also played in major music halls like the Auditorio Nacional de España in Madrid, Sala Mozart in Zaragoza, Teatro Cervantes in Málaga, Auditorio Fórum Evolución in Burgos, Fundación Juan March, Auditorio Manuel de Falla in Granada, Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid, Music Auditorium in Zutphen and Real Colegiata de San Isidoro in León, with orchestra conductors like Enrique García Asensio, Moritz Gnann (Boston Symphony Orchestra), Ricardo Espigares, Cristóbal Soler, José Sanchís, Miguel Calderón or Gabriel Delgado.
In relation to chamber music, he receives lessons from teachers like Cibrán Sierra, Aitor Hevia and Josep Puchades of the Cuarteto Quiroga, Carole Petitdemange y Yuko Hara of the Cuarteto Ardeo, Misha Amory of the Cuarteto Brentano, Thuan Do Minh, Fazil Say, Hiro Kurosaki, Ana María Valderrama, Emilio González, Mauricio Linari, José Segovia, José Luis Estellés, Miguel Franco or Paco Moya, with his actual string cuartet formation Cuarteto Bran and others.
Currently, he is studying her master's degree in the interpretation of the violoncello at the HKU Utrecht Conservatory with the teacher Timora Rosler.

Playing the trumpet is very exciting!

I am Alberto, and I will help you achieve your musical goals with a tailor-made program. My approach is to find suitable music for your technical and expressive level and work specifically on the challenges that it represents.

Music is for everyone! Kids and adults
Perhaps you want to surprise your couple playing a bossa-nova. Or maybe you want to become the next solo trumpet at the Concertgebouw Orchestra. Everyone has different goals when playing the trumpet, it is my job to help you achieve them. If you don't have clear objectives yet, I will be guiding you and exploring the possibilities of trumpet playing with you. Also, especially for kids, I can help you find a nice pTrumpet. They are lightweight plastic trumpets made with great quality and available in different colours!

Good technique, and a lot of fun
The most important lesson I have learned in my career is that making good music is only possible when you enjoy the process. Of course, good technical skills are crucial but studying exercises that you find boring is not the best way up to proficiency. Instead, finding your unique best approach to improve your skills will get you to the moon! For improving your tempo awareness, would you practice with a metronome or would you rather use a drumbeat sample?

Your health is important! Body awareness and breathing techniques
Not only wind players benefit from doing sport, acquiring good posture habits, and being aware of their breath. It helps everyone in every single aspect of their lives. A good breathing technique will let you play easily, run for a longer period of time, or sleep better at night. On the other hand, body posture awareness helps with productivity and saves money on the fysio. Life hacks that you cannot miss!

Improvisation and open-mindedness
That very feeling of creating art on the spot. Only a few experiences can relate to it. When we explore and create, our flow state gets triggered. We are fully immersed in the activity and the world surrounding us vanishes. If you like, we will go on a journey discovering new emotions, colours, sounds, harmonies, textures, styles, genres. And improvising on them. Let's get creative!

Technology in music. Recording and producing
Let's face it, we are in the 21st century and the possibilities of technology are endless in the audiovisual field. Recording for auditions, producing and releasing your first single, live looping, use of effects... You can learn all that with me. Are you curious? Book your lesson now!

Ok but, how will my lessons look like?
Breathing practice is one of the best ways to start warming up. It will take the first 5 minutes of your lesson and your body will be prepared to start playing.
Then, we would go into working on your specific goals. Perhaps, we are practicing music that demands improvement on the higher register, maybe we are working out different scales for improvisation, or it might be the case that you want to discover a new genre and go deep into it. Reading music, ear training, phrasing, music theory, buzzing and embouchure position, articulations (legato, staccato, accents), dynamics... These are only an indication of what we might work on.
The final minutes of your lesson will be the moment to relax. We can get creative, play some tunes together, improvise, or even talk about a specific topic like musicality, art, creativity, technique, theory or the music industry for instance.

Group lessons and ensembles
Making music alone is fun, but playing with people brings it to the next level! If you like the idea, I will bring you together with other fellow students for technique workshops, jam sessions, duo with piano, or whatever other activity we might find interesting for you.

I offer flexibility in my schedule so your trumpet lessons fit into your agenda. I can come to your place, or perhaps you prefer visiting my teaching room in Utrecht. I will have some coffee or tea waiting for you.

I am a brass performer and teacher that has performed in classical and modern music ensembles for more than 15 years. During this time, I attended innumerable masterclasses and had great fun in various professional experiences such as performing at Tomorrowland, an avant-garde music festival in Malta, or the great symphonic masterpieces with symphonic orchestras in Spain and the Netherlands.
I hold a bachelor's and a master's degree in music performance and a master's degree in music education during my official studies in Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands.
Nowadays, you can still find me teaching brass in the Utrecht area, composing and producing my own music at home, playing tuba with a symphonic orchestra, trombone in a reggae band, or improvising trumpet over a techno track.

My goal as a music teacher is to make the students able to experience all types of emotions by playing music, understanding the musical process from its roots with a creative approach. My lessons are designed according to the specific needs of each student and the main objective is to guide them in the optimal direction to achieve their full potential in a fun way. How will my lessons look like
From the first lesson, the student will start making music. We will begin learning the basic concepts of music, developing listening and rhythmic skills with fun exercises. Lessons will also be focused on learning the basics of music theory, creating a solid technical base and paying special attention to having a relaxed and healthy body posture. My academic and professional experience has helped me create a teaching method where improvisation is an essential tool for the student. I enjoy working on it from the beginning since it is a perfect way to develop musicality.

Playing different music genres together
As a musician, another of my sources of inspiration is to get to know and to learn from different styles, playing and experimenting with music from the classical period until the most avant-garde style. During the lessons, we will play pop, jazz, classical and many other styles. I would like to explore the instrument with the student in a fun way, growing, improving, and discovering new ways of making music together. During the lessons the students and I could play together, either playing some duos with the cello or accompanying them with the piano, which is an activity that I really enjoy. Playing together with more people and with a polyphonic instrument from the beginning will give the student clues to learn how to play in ensembles and listen to all the different voices that can be part of any musical composition.

Hello!
I am Irene, a graduated Master student at HKU Utrecht Conservatorium, and I offer cello lessons to people of all ages, both online and in person.
I have more than 7 years of experience teaching both adults and children, in private lessons, group lessons and music schools.
I have also taught music theory and piano to beginners.
The lessons could work in different ways: regular lessons every one or two weeks, or just a couple of times, etc. I have had students that only wanted to learn a bit, and I also have students that have continued for some years with me. I could also adjust the duration of the lessons from 30mins (especially for younger kids) to 1h.

I was lucky enough to have very good teachers throughout my education and now I want to pass on my knowledge to my students.

In my teaching, I want to "read" the student sitting in the room with me and conclude which of the many possibilities might work specifically for him or her.

I was trained as a classical musician and over the years I also found folk music very interesting because it connects you with the stories and traditions of a certain country or region. With this I want to say that different types of music are welcome in my lessons.

I like to motivate my students regarding to their music tastes.
Always trying to keep a creative environment where the students can express themselves in all aspects.
I believe that it is necessary to be constant. The ideal would be one hour or hour and a half per week, but that depends on the student availability. I would provide a personal adaptation.

I consider myself an involved and motivated musician. I am constantly trying to learn and enjoy so much doing it.
In the meantime I was studying the degree, I teached weekly, mainly kids and teenagers, and the last two summers I was teaching in a Flute Summer Course, individual lessons and for chamber music.
I have done a university course for Psychology for Musicians, which encouraged me to go deeper in this field, and currently this is the base of my teaching and my mindset for my studies and life.

I have been working for 12 years as a piano and music teacher (I started very very young, when I was 14 years old, because I always liked teaching): I have experience in private lessons and official state music schools, with children from 2 years and adults of all levels, both individually and in groups. I have taught piano, music and movement for children, music theory, solfeggio and choir.

I finished my bachelor studies with the highest marks, I have experience as a concert performer and have won many international prizes in competitions as well as scholarships prizes.
