Kora lessons for all levels with Yakhouba, professional korist. Born in The Gambia, Yakhouba began learning kora with his father at the age of five. He played with internationally renowned musicians, in Africa as in Europe, where he settled in the early 1980s: Sekouba Bambino, Kandia Kouyate, Ami Koita, Tata Bambo Kouyate, Diaba Kouyate, Mah Damba, and Dee Dee Bridgewater and Baaba Maal. From 2012 to 2019 he was also one of the three major members of the Kora Jazz Band, which performs worldwide. Yakhouba also regularly intervenes at the Cité de la Musique in Paris where he performs musical entertainment. He has already worked several times with town halls of Ile de France for courses or interventions in schools and animation centers. Classes take place at his home in Paris 18th, metro Jules Joffrin or Marcadet-Poissonniers.

In addition to my activities as an artist, I love to teach, to open the fascinating world of the viola da gamba to people. I have had students for many years and now I want to build a class here in Paris. All levels I teach in French, German, English, Czech and Dutch I studied at the Konservatorium Wien Privatuniversität, at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (Bale), at the Utrecht Conservatory and at the Amsterdam Conservatory. I have been playing guitar for over 30 years. Starting when I was 15 I walked 5 miles to pick up my first electric guitar and tried to learn all the Beatles songs I was listening to. Since then I have grown and developed new musical tastes and played in several recording bands. I am teaching my two children guitar and would love to share my love of music and the guitar withh other people/children. I thought this would be a great way to do it!!!

I am a singer/songwriter and freelance session vocalist by trade. My lessons focus on creating music rather than simply doing cover songs, although I can help you learn cover songs as well. I began my musical learning journey at the age of 16 with classical singing lessons. I quickly moved on to more contemporary styles of music. Between the ages of 17 and 18, I was lucky enough to be selected for the X Factor television show in France. Following the show, I learned to write my own music and have been writing ever since. My main goal with teaching is to instill a love and appreciation for music and to guide people in creating their own music.

In this lesson, we will learn the basics of Arabic singing, voice and breathing exercises, oriental maqams, and analysis of singing passages. The lesson is suitable for beginners and those with a background who wish to develop their oriental performance techniques. My practice is applied using examples from the Arab heritage (such as Umm Kulthum and Abdel Wahab), in addition to listening and analytical exercises.
