My name is Ashley! I've had many experiences tutoring and working with children of different age groups and backgrounds, because I'm especially passionate about helping people overcome their learning barriers and achieve their potential. I am a native English and Chinese speaker, who have also grown up speaking Bahasa Indonesian. I am comfortable teaching Maths up to High School advanced level (depending on the syllabus eg. GCSE, International Baccalaureate), and English and Literature for both second-language and first-language speakers.

Hi, My name is Ashley Yong, I'm a recent graduate in Economics and Policy Sciences who's now living in The Hague, Netherlands. I've had many experiences tutoring and working with children of different age groups and backgrounds, from English for refugee high school students, fire-building and marine wildlife identification for 10 years olds, and swimming for my non-bouyant friends! I enjoy helping people grow, overcome their weaknesses, build their confidence and ultimately, acheive their fullest potential.

Your skill level or experience does not matter, as I would cater my lessons according to your individual strength and abilities. I believe patience, openness and communication is important, and the best combination for an optimum learning environment. As such, I am also comfortable tutoring second-language English speakers. I offer English and French classes for multiple levels. French is my mother tongue and I am studying English at university and have a 7.5 IELTS level. I can also give basic Arabic and Spanish classes. Classes can be just conversation classes or written grammar. Contact me if interested!

I graduated last year in an Italian high school in Castelfranco Veneto, my hometown.
The school I went to was a “Liceo Scientifico”, characterized for giving an accurate and complete preparation in scientific subjects such as Maths and Physics as well as more humanistic disciplines, for example Latin, Italian literature, Art and Philosophy.
Two years ago I lived for a year in Chile through an exchange program that gave me the chance to study for a year in South America. By staying there I had the opportunity to learn to speak fluently Spanish and to develop a deep interest for South American (especially Chilean) folklore, culture and art.

Tutor in both English and Spanish. As a native English speaker, I am competent to teach any level from Grammar and written English, to causal conversation to improve practical skills. As a near-native Spanish speaker (C1/C2), I am competent to teach any age and ability. Having learnt the language myself, I have an advantage in teaching it to others, as I understand where common mistakes are made and student are confused. I started tutoring at 14, but only began doing it regularly four years later at the IB level. My professional experience has also included college-level student assistantships. My approach to learning is influenced by my own diverse background. I have studied under different systems in the Mexico, the Netherlands and France, which allowed me to experiment with various learning methods and discover what works and what doesn't. When it comes to the IB, I especially understand how to structure written assignments (including IAs, TOK essay and the EE) and have several tips to achieve the highest results.
