I give private classes for any age, both in person and online. At the ESO level I can teach Spanish, Catalan or philosophy. With a better level I can teach Latin, Greek or English. I am currently in my second year of high school, so it is easy for me to get along with the students, I get good grades and I can share study methods with my students.

I am a native speaker of Greek. I graduated from a Greek high school and, later, the University of Athens where I attended courses in pedagogics, psychology, and linguistics. During our lessons, I'll help you develop your skills (oral/written, and not only). I'll also try to help you improve your pronunciation and spelling. I assign homework and after I receive it, correct it thoroughly additionally providing a lot of remarks/examples if they are necessary. I worked at a language center between 2009-2016 where I was a director of studies and taught mainly English as a foreign/second language. Since 2005, when I first started teaching Greek, I have taught children and adults on a variety of language proficiency levels, mainly individually. I constantly seek progress, meaning that I study further through reading books/articles concerning didactics/methodology and learning difficulties (chiefly dyslexia), observing other teachers as well as attending seminars (online or face-to-face). During my lessons I use : - Skype/Whatsapp/Messenger to connect with you, - Google Docs to keep notes, which you can check at any time and they are yours to keep, - sketch board me to make mind maps to show connections between ideas, etc. - books, PPP, word docs, diagrams, pics, etc. - pronunciation/spelling/grammar games, - authentic materials were taken from websites. I adore my profession and desire each and every one of my students be satisfied with the lesson. That's why I make sure the atmosphere is stress-free and nice. I also want my lessons to be as effective and close to real-life needs as possible. Therefore, I make sure they are well-prepared, although they can be altered at any point, should such an opportunity arise. I like explaining things in a variety of ways as well as make use of dictionaries, diagrams, etc. When it comes to students who want to obtain certificates, I am very demanding. Hello, I’m Sam. I’m currently an University student at Exeter University, studying Economics. I recently left KCS, Wimbledon with three A-Levels (Maths A*, Economics A*, Latin A). I’m keen to tutor students at A-Level or below in either Maths or GCSE or below in Latin. I achieved grade 9s in Maths, Further Maths and Latin at iGCSE. I have experienced tutoring students aged 8-16 over the last 4 years in Maths and Latin, both online and in person. I have further experience working with children having coached football, rugby and cricket for the last 4 years. I am a very flexible tutor, and am happy to teach whatever my student needs most that session, whether it be a homework or concept they don’t quite understand, or revision for an upcoming test. I have a deep understanding of current curriculums, having studied them across various exam boards not too long ago. During sessions, I'd start be seeing where my tutee has been struggling or making mistakes, before walking through practice questions with them, to see how their current level of understanding translates into real, exam-style questions. I aim for my tutees to take the front seat during sessions, in order that they are doing all the critical thinking, in order to help them practise without my help. I may also set a few short homeworks to ensure my tutees are consolidating what they have learnt, and don't forget it all by the time our next session comes around! My main aim is for my tutees to enjoy the subject! By enjoying it, you will be more inclined to concentrate, and put the work in to achieve their potential by the time exam season comes around. I believe that no matter how a student has performed in their subject in previous years, I can help them achieve the highest grades in their exams, and I will not settle for less!

The quickest and easiest way to supercharge your Latin language skills is to use the language yourself! We'll be learning how to become conversational in Latin, with as much active practice as possible - soon, you'll be able to read texts left to right, unseen! I'll start at whatever level you're comfy with - whether that's from absolute scratch, or whether you've already done Latin courses at school or university and are looking for a bit of extra help! I'm very familiar with neurodivergency (I'm neurodivergent myself!), and I know how important flexibility + accommodation is when it comes to working around neurodivergency, mental health conditions, disabilities, or any other circumstances - do let me know if you need anything, and I'll do my best to sort things out! I'm also LGBT friendly (and specifically trans + nb friendly - let me know any name or pronoun preferences, and we can have a bit of fun figuring out how they'd best map onto Latin!).

I have several years of experience tutoring students of different age groups in Latin and Ancient Greek. I am deeply passionate about these languages and I enjoy helping students improving at them. I believe that understanding the structure of a sentence is fundamental when approaching these languages, therefore this is an important focus for me. During the class I always dedicate some time to reasoning and translating sentences together with the student. I have a BS in pharmaceutical biotechnology and I am currently a master student in Medicine. I find biology very fascinating and I have been tutoring it for years now. Depending on the topic and the student's needs, I structure the lessons differently. I usually explain the topic and use tools such as spaced repetition, notes, conceptual maps to make sure that the student has understood.
