Jawa (1996) a Syrian oud player, singer and composer.
I was born in Aleppo, and I grew up in Damascus, Syria. I started playing music at the age of eleven. I chose the Oud as my instrument because my father used to play it everyday at home when I was young. Gradually, I fell in love with it and now I feel an unlimited feeling of freedom while playing it. Graduated from Rotterdam Conservatory in 2021.

Lecciones especializadas en la comprensión y construcción de maqams árabes (Rast, Bayat, Hijaz, Saba, Kurd, Ajam, etc.), con explicaciones de géneros musicales, cuartos de tono, transiciones de maqam y aplicación práctica en canto y ejecución.
Se proporciona entrenamiento en escuchar maqam, distinguir entre maqams e improvisar de manera correcta, desde nivel principiante hasta avanzado.

My teaching emphasizes the Arab maqams, capturing their spirit, nuances, and classical melodies, while also integrating modern playing techniques that I mastered at the Arab Oud House.

I design each lesson carefully according to the student’s level, progressing step by step to ensure steady improvement and deep understanding.
