Hello,
I am Selçuk, a musician and Research Assistant at Istanbul Bilgi University, Department of Music. I have been playing bass guitar for 20 years and double bass for 15 years. I graduated from Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory Jazz Double Bass Department. I am doing my PhD at ITU MIAM (Center for Advanced Studies in Music). Over the years, I have had the chance to take part in many different music scenes and work with many different students.

Jawa (1996) a Syrian oud player, singer and composer.
I was born in Aleppo, and I grew up in Damascus, Syria. I started playing music at the age of eleven. I chose the Oud as my instrument because my father used to play it everyday at home when I was young. Gradually, I fell in love with it and now I feel an unlimited feeling of freedom while playing it. Graduated from Rotterdam Conservatory in 2021.

In Oud, we will focus on:

Musical Maqams: Deepen your understanding of Arabic Maqams and how to apply them to playing. Musical Notes: Learn to read and perform notes on the oud with skill.
