My name is Pilar, I am a pianist and piano teacher with extensive experience in the field of music education. The areas in which I move cover various styles and levels. I am specialized in the interpretation of classical music, as well as in questions derived from musical theory: language, harmony or analysis. Likewise, I propose the classes in a didactic, flexible and dynamic way, learning about various styles, both classical music and current music. I enjoy teaching and I have many voices that support my experience and good practices, from children to adults.

As a classically trained opera singer, I offer voice and piano/keyboard instruction to students of all ages and skill levels, and I believe that everyone has the ability to find their inner musician. Through voice or piano instruction, I aim to help each of my students find their unique musical voice while building a foundation of technique, and I encourage my students to embrace mistakes and imperfections in the learning process. I also embrace teaching a variety of genres including pop, jazz, musical theatre, classical, and accompaniment. Most importantly, I hope to inspire a genuine passion for music in each of my voice and piano students. Biography: Born and raised in North Carolina, Kennedy is a classically trained mezzo soprano. She teaches and performs across a wide range of genres, including classical, musical theatre, gospel, and pop. She found her passion for singing and performing at the age of 5 when she began to sing in church, and her love for the performing arts led her to participate in choir and musical theatre throughout school. She has performed roles such as Annie in Annie Get Your Gun and Cat in the Hat in Seussical. Kennedy began piano lessons at age 15 and classical vocal training at age of 17. She went on to receive a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from UNC Chapel Hill, where she dove into classical vocal training and performed operatic roles such as the Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas and Madame de la Haltière in Cendrillon. It was at UNC that Kennedy fell in love with performing opera and found that classical vocal training also improved her musical theatre and pop repertoire. After studying abroad in London and Florence during her time at UNC, Kennedy decided to return to London to pursue a master’s degree. She graduated in 2020 with a Master of Music in Classical Vocal Performance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance, where she was awarded the Kathleen Roberts Vocal Scholarship. During her time in London, she performed in venues such as The Queen’s House and Blackheath Halls, and sang various operatic roles such as The Third Lady in The Magic Flute, Gertrude in Louise, Ljubica in the contemporary chamber opera Svadba, and as Cenerentola in Cenerentola. She also gained training and experience singing in a wide range of languages, including Italian, French, German, Spanish, and Serbian. In addition to performing, Kennedy has an equal love for teaching and has taught voice and piano for over six years to students across London, North Carolina, and Spain. She currently resides in Madrid, Spain where she works as a music and English teacher.

Music is everywhere. Music is a passion. Music is the most beautiful journey. I have been a music teacher, piano teacher, violin teacher and song teacher for 12 years. I love my job and I want to give my knowledge to new people. Through music you discover yourself and you become a better person. Music is the window to the soul. I am a female law graduate from Ireland and I am a part-time private piano/violin teacher. I am a native English speaker and I am currently living in Madrid. The duration of the class is 30 minutes. I have plenty of experience preparing students for exams if that is something they wish to do. However, a lot of students only wish to learn the piano for fun! During the lesson, I will teach piano exercises (scales/arpeggios), pieces (classical/pop/preferred genre), music theorey (rhythm/note values) and sight reading. These classes are a very effective way to develop your skills in both music and English at the same time! I teach the piano in a fun and engaging way and I hope to inspire you or your children to love the piano!

A piano class for beginners. I have over ten years of piano and music theory experience and passion that I would like to use. Class units include: I. Develop Music Comprehension Skills: Teaching the basic music vocabulary, keys, theory, and techniques. II. Cultivate Motor Skills: Practicing chords, scales, muscle memory, using both hands, finger facility, and strength. III. Reading music: Practicing songs, chord building, intervals. IX. Integration: Combining all of these skills to read music and play beginners piano music, practice ear training, sight-reading, harmony, and advanced rhythms. X. Progression of song difficulty, and quantity and quality of pieces. Homework includes listening to songs to practice the Suzuki method and practicing scales, chords, and encouraging songs to be played 10-30 minutes each day.

Classical professional singer and jazz with experience in stages throughout Europe is offered to teach singing (all levels) and piano (beginner and intermediate). Singing styles: classical, jazz, folklore and pop. In singing I teach breathing, diction, vocal technique, body, pronunciation. I also teach specialized techniques for professional singers (all voices).

As a 19 second year student at ESSEC Business School, I will be living in Madrid starting September.
