Hi! My name Matt. I’m a passionate teacher of music. I teach piano, composition, music theory, ear-training and rhythmic studies. I’ve been teaching for 15-years in various musical styles and I’m offering specifically-tailored lessons to students of all ages, background, experience level. I teach in both english and danish. I'm generous with my knowledge and time :) Outside of formal education across Europe and Canada (Jazz masters in Performance, Post-Masters in Composition, Royal Conservatory of Music, grade 10) I’ve lived in places like South India (studying Carnatic classical music) and Bali (studying Gamelan music). Hello there! My name is Inês and I am a harpist from Portugal! With over 8 years of experience teaching music, to both children and adults, I am passionate about inspiring my pupils through art and music! I have experience in teaching both celtic and pedal harp, music theory and piano. Hej! My name is Steaph, I am a harpist from Scotland. I have lived in Copenhagen for 4 years. I am an experienced and professional musician, and a passionate teacher. I am happy to teach students of any age (6+) and anybody from absolute beginners, to advanced students. Being from Scotland, where the lever harp is a traditional instrument, I have a lot of experience with celtic and folk music. I am a professional classical musician in Copenhagen, but I also have a passion for arranging and performing pop music! I am a professional percussion player. I graduated from The Royal Danish Music Academy in 2017 and I am currently attending the soloist postgraduate course. Choosing to do music can serve different roles in our lives. It can be a fun hobby and a way to find a private creative space or it can become a profession and a dedicated life choice. My approach to the lessons will therefore change accordingly. In my teaching I like to develop a deep and meaningful relationship with each student according to his/her personality and individuality in order to make each lesson as advantageous as possible. I always hope to encourage within my students a very deep commitment to their instruments and the practice of music. I am very happy to work both with beginners, intermediate and advanced students. With beginners I think it’s important to build a solid technical basis and knowledge of music and solfége and to work on how to build a productive practice routine. Lessons will be structured differently according to the individual, his age and goals, but keeping in mind these targets. When working with more advanced students I like to move the focus more and more to a deeper approach to the music and its meaning. Technic becomes the means to let the musician speak himself through the music he is playing. I think it is very important to let anyone find his own voice in music and explore different genres of music in order to find the one that suits you best.

Ableton is one of the most popular Audio editing softwares to date. In this course it will be in focus, but all other music editing softwares will work aswell. We deep dive into mixing theory, gain staging, listening setups and much more. I think you will find it very enlightening & fun.

Finally there is an international guitar school in Copenhagen where all students are not only learning how to play properly the guitar from a professional guitarist but also how to appreciate the meaning of the music and arts. Students will also be prepared for professional music education. So whether the student wants to become a professional guitar player or play the guitar as a hobby, they will always learn a constructive way to play the guitar and perform with the instrument. Lessons are open for everyone (children, teenagers, adults). The students are welcome to the lessons from the age of 6. Carlos is currently working as a teacher in Copenhagen with his own music school, His students represent several nationalities. Carlos has excellent motivation with his profession and he is driven to help his students to achieve their best. If you're just learning music now and it feels like there's a lot to understand, don't worry we're gonna start from the basics. I will help you understand music and its elements. With your dedication and my guidance, I'm positive that we will get a good result!

These lessons are for young and/or inexperienced singers. My lesson plans are tailored towards students' individual goals. For some, this may be learning and embodying an audition song for their school's upcoming theater performance, and for others voice lessons are a first step towards singing healthily in their church choir. In any case, I focus on correcting and building core skills necessary to singing one's best while encouraging and fostering creativity, accountability, and motivation. If considered for a long-term journey towards singing, I will focus particularly on classical techniques to build steady breath control, good posture, and proper vowel and consonant formation. Along with providing repertoire, if the student is ready and wants, there will be opportunities for vocal performance in the Santa Cruz area. I will encourage audio recordings in all lessons to help with future preparations. I will be assigning some homework after every lesson, likely a combination of vocalization exercises, dedicated sheet music practice, and theory homework (if needed). *My first lesson will involve getting to know the student, their goals, and some vocalization to assess vocal level. For singers with minimal/no prior foundational music theory knowledge, I may recommend time from lessons (15-30 minutes) being allocated solely towards foundational music theory learning.
