Everyone is musical to learn music!

I offer instrumental lessons for piano and Guzheng to students of all ages and backgrounds, regardless of your level of proficiency. Whether you prefer classical or pop music, you will find something that suits your taste.

I also provide lessons Western music theory ranging from Grade 1 to Grade 8, as well as Chinese music theory lessons.

You can also opt to take Graded examinations for international recognition of your progress in music. I am proud to say that my students have a 100% passing rate. If you are interested to study with me, please do get in touch.

About Me
Cindy is a professional music instrumental and theory tutor, a lecturer, a postgraduate teaching assistant, and an education researcher.

Cindy has extensive experience teaching music education, research methods, and quantitative and qualitative data analysis at higher education. She was also a Research Associate and Research Assistant at UCL and the IOE and is now an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at UCL.

Cindy offers classical piano lessons for children aged 6 and above and adults, from beginner to advanced level. She also teaches Western music theory from Grade 1 to Grade 8 and music for GCSEs, A-levels, and university levels.
Education
She has a Ph.D. in Music Education and a wealth of experience in both teaching and performing. Cindy has been teaching piano and music theory lessons since 2004. She is a highly educated pianist, and in addition to her PhD, she holds a Master of Music Education degree, a Master of Music in Piano Performance degree, a Bachelor of Music in Piano degree, and a Fellowship of Royal Schools of Music.
Experience / Qualifications
In her career as a solo pianist, Cindy has performed numerous solo piano recitals around Manchester, Warrington, and Altrincham, and toured throughout Asia. She also performs regularly as a solo pianist in private concert events in London. Cindy plays with several chamber ensembles, including CC Piano Duo, L&C Violin Duo, Eastern Western Violin Duo, Lukas Piano Trio, and Leonard Piano Quartet in private events and concerts. Cindy is a sought-after piano accompanist for instrumentalists, vocalists, and students for exams and competitions, and works regularly accompanying church services and choirs. She has also accompanied in concert settings, performing at numerous recital series and competitions in Manchester, Warrington, and Lancaster. She was appointed as the official accompanist in a Chinese music festival and the Hong Kong University Graduate Music Concert.

Cindy has performed on several TV and radio programs on the Television Broadcasts Limited Hong Kong and the Radio Television Hong Kong. She was interviewed on the program “Chinatown” by BBC Radio Manchester and Radio Television Hong Kong and was praised as a “future music star" by the Hong Kong Economic Times. Cindy’s high level of qualifications and professional experience allow her to offer engaging and inspiring piano lessons, tailored to each of her student’s goals and aspirations. All of Cindy’s students have achieved a high level of success in learning piano and have immeasurable enjoyment in their music journey.
