I offer lessons for children and adults, no matter the level. In my lessons, in addition to learning technique and the instrumental repertoire (clarinet), you learn the language of music in all its facets (solfeggio, rhythmics, dictation, harmony, elements of composition).
The method I use varies for each individual student and depends not only on his/her level, but on what interests him/her most and what serves his/her artistic growth.

I am Ezio, I am Italian and I moved to Belgium to continue my studies.
I have a degree in clarinet, I also studied conducting for wind orchestras, musical propaedeutics and also theatre and theatre therapy.
I have worked with youth bands and taught in two music schools in Sicily. I am always interested in new methodologies and everything that can make learning not only functional, but also a real pleasure.

I don't think I am too strict, not because I can't be, but because I have never needed to be. I have always managed to stimulate everyone, even the most restless pupils.
I always like to exchange ideas during lessons, no matter how prepared the student is, he or she can always offer something to the teacher.
I also like to put into practice what is studied, so I always try to bring new material, even small things to do in the last 10 minutes of class.
My aim is to make people learn music in a smart way, using all available instruments. I want the student to be independent and to know how to study when he is alone, how to learn something new, how to write down a musical idea in his head and also how to listen to the music around him.
Music is freedom and with music's rules one can learn to be free.

Formación

I started studying music privately and with a school project (middle school). In the meantime, I studied theatre at TeatroImpulso in Catania and then at CAMS Sutdios. I was then admitted to the A. Corelli Conservatory in Messina, and after two years I moved to Leuven, LUCA School of Arts, where I graduated in clarinet and am now attending the master's course.
I followed courses in conducting for wind orchestra with maestros Salvatore Tralongo, Lorenzo Della Fonte and Eugene Migliaro Corporon.

I am a professional violinist. I graduated with distinction at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (Master) and hold a Bachelor Diploma from Codarts (Rotterdam).
I also pursued a masters degree in Music Education at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.

I teach students of all ages and levels.
I have fifteen years of teaching experience in the Netherlands and in Belgium ( privately and at music schools/muziekacademies).

Je lie systématiquement le travail concret de l'instrument ( Classique, Variété ou Jazz ) avec un apprentissage minimal des éléments de base de la pratique musicale en général : théorie de la musique, formation de l'oreille intérieure, développement de la sensibilité harmonique, mélodique et rythmique, solfège etc... Je peux volontiers aborder tout cela plus profondément à la demande de l'élève, c'est passionnant aussi vous verrez !

La première rencontre sera l'occasion de discuter de tout cela, afin de mettre en place un cadre adopté à votre profil (Jeune enfant débutant, adolescent confirmé, adulte en reprise ou autres...)

Courses and Training:

Graduated in Musicology, my specialization in Singing at the IMEP (Conservatory of Namur) and in accompanying music on the accordion led me after my studies to give singing lessons in a music school (Cap sur le Music in Kraainem), as well as musical awakening in different schools, via Les Jeunesses Musicales.
Being also an ethnomusicologist, I like to work with repertoires from other horizons, both singing and accordion.
Currently working part-time at Outhere Music (production and distribution house of classical and jazz music), I have the chance to discover on a daily basis a large quantity of various repertoires, likely here to be the subject of discoveries for the student, depending on their different future artistic aspirations.
Passionate about CVT (complete vocal technique) since 2021 and trained in postural and psycho-behavioural muscle chains (GDS method), my goal is to get the student to explore his vocal universe as broadly as possible, while increasing his body awareness with each lesson.

Approach & repertoire:

I attach great importance to body awareness, presence and movement, as well as the overall well-being of the student. Having also followed a training in Mindfulness, I like to mix a therapeutic approach with the artistic work accomplished with the student.
Starting from the student's musical desires and aspirations is also essential for me. I therefore aim for personalized support that respects its own achievement objectives.
My methodology aims at learning the technique through play and body movement, both for singing lessons and musical awakening.
No prerequisite in music is necessary (neither music theory nor other).

Musical Awakening for children (individual or semi-collective – from 1 to 6-7 years old):

With young children, I try to multiply awakening approaches using senses other than just hearing, both by learning gesture songs and rhythmic activities. The activities of dance or development of the ear by listening are of course omnipresent. I work on psychomotricity and seek to discover new instruments, as well as the different repertoires which are connected to them.
I work on several levels (passive and active) and different scales of difficulty according to ages and possible interactions in small groups, in order to anchor learning and awakening over time.
Breath work is also on the program.

Giovanna raised and formed in Florence, where she began her guitar studies at the age of five at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole. In September, she graduated cum laude and she's currently enrolled in the Master’s program at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, studying with Antigoni Goni.

Winner of many international competitions, she performed plenty of times in Italy and in 2023 she has held a solo concert in Milan for the XXXVIII Società Umanitaria's concerts season. Next to renowned guitarists, such as Luigi Attademo and Giorgio Albiani, she performed the world premiere of Álvaro Company’s Concert Català for ten guitars, in the revision by Vincenzo Saldarelli.

Alongside her performing activity, Giovanna has developed a strong dedication to teaching adults, children, and teenagers. She tailors each learning path to the individual student, carefully balancing personal interests with technical and artistic development, whether for amateur musicians or students preparing for conservatory admission. Her teaching approach places particular emphasis on physical awareness and well-being, guiding students toward healthy and efficient use of the body while playing. Music theory is fully integrated into her lessons and is always connected to practical application on the instrument.
