CELLO & MUSIC THEORY - From CLASSICAL to MODERN - from an Expert Educator/Performer

I am a French historical and modern horn player based in The Hague. I have played the Horn since I was 4 years old and I have two Master's degrees in modern horn and natural horn. I offer you lessons on modern and historical instruments, as well as music theory. I work with all ages, all levels, and all objectives, and I can even work with other brass. If you want to discover the instrument or perfect it, if you need theory support or practice help, I will adapt my methods to your needs to offer you quality musical time! I have taught children and adults since 2017, and I truly love leading people their way to enjoyable, musical, and informed brass playing. My lessons include warmups, technique, working on pieces of various repertoire, playing in duo with me, and more. For music theory, I like to come up with playful exercises of my own according to the student's needs and level. Horns are so fun !! Discover new instruments, sounds, techniques, and styles.

Every student needs a teacher who gives personal attention and is flexible, which is why I always adapt to the student's individual needs and different speeds of learning. Everyone is capable of making music, we only need to develop our skills, and with the right tools the world of music opens up. I am deeply convinced that music is something that we all need and find the most comforting in the trickiest situations. Music helps to express emotions and the cello is an instrument that is immensely similar to the human voice. I was under the tutelage of the great violin pedagogue Mr. Mauricio Fuks at Indiana University (USA) for 3 consecutive years (2018-2021) becoming his teaching assistant for 3 years (2018-2021). Moreover, I have taught young violinists in Elementary Schools, (e.g. Fairview Elementary School) and also collegiate students in the Jacobs School of Music (US). In Spain, I have teaching experience in several music schools instructing violinists ranging from 3 to 70 years of age. I have also worked with ADHD and autistic students with a great passion for violin playing and music-making. I hold a master's in Violin Performance at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag and in Psychology and Music (UNED). I have an excellent command of English, and Dutch and a good working knowledge of French. I base my teaching method on Suzuki and Galamian methods, which I combine with a wide repertoire of progressive violin pieces. Come and have a lesson with me!

Hi! My name is Zoë and I am an oboist. I have completed a Bachelor of Music at the Australian National University and am now starting my Master of Music at the Koninklijk Conservatorium van Den Haag. I love to share my passion for music with others, and in my lessons you will learn about music that interests you and most importantly, have fun! I have been teaching for six years. I have experience teaching all ages and abilities, in individual lesson environments, group lessons, reed making lessons, small ensemble tutoring, and orchestral tutoring. I have experience with all genres of classical music, and have a strong background in music theory, aural skills, musicology, and composition. Lessons with me will incorporate all skills involved to become a well rounded musician. Some of the highlights of my musical career so far have included being principal oboist and orchestral manager of the Australian National University Orchestra and performing E. Goossens' Oboe Concerto at their 2022 Concerto Gala, playing tutti oboe in the Canberra Symphony Orchestra, principal oboe in the Australian Romantic and Classical Orchestra's Young Mannheim Symphonists Orchestra, and performing in the Olive Trio, a chamber music ensemble consisting of oboe, violin and harp, made up of members of the Canberra Symphony Orchestra. Hello singer! My name is Keith, a professional jazz vocalist and songwriter currently based in The Hague. I was born and raised in Hong Kong. I graduated from Royal Conservatoire The Hague in the Netherlands in 2022 with a degree in jazz vocals. In February 2021, I was invited by Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office to perform at their online new year receptions in Belgium and the Netherlands. My song “Who Sings With Water” has won Best Original Music of the Year at Beehive Music Award 2022 by A Cappella China. Prior to my study, I was the resident artist of Yat Po Singers, a multi-award winning a cappella theatre company in Hong Kong, from 2012 to 2018. I performed in many of our original productions, such as the CASH Golden Sail Music Award winner Rock Hard. I also arranged music for our productions of This Victoria Has No Secrets in 2019 and Pica Pica Choose in 2018. ​During my residency, I have toured Tokyo, Seoul, Penang, Taipei, Macau, Mainland China, Brussels and Luxembourg, and collaborated with various performing art groups such as Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, Hong Kong Dance Company and Edward Lam Dance Theatre. I have given choir lessons at the primary school of European School The Hague since 2021. I was a coach for several amateur a cappella groups in Hong Kong and have given vocal lessons in many secondary schools there. With my wide range of performing experience and knowledge obtained over the years, you can surely improve your singing skills by taking lessons from me. My name is João, I'm from Portugal, I'm 24 years of age, and I'm doing my bachelor's in jazz at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. I've been playing piano all my life, and can't wait to share what I've learned with you! I teach piano to all ages from beginner to intermediate. Although I have a program, I will let you create your own path, taking into account the several landmarks I create according to your level and needs. Teaching is all about the individuality of each person I work with, and as a student myself, I find it to be one of the most important points in teaching. Hello! My name is Belemir, and I am a classical violinist living in Den Haag. I received my Master's degree from the Royal Conservatory in 2017 with the Orchestra Master specialization and my Bachelor's degree from the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory in Istanbul. My training has to lead me to pursue an exciting profession of diverse musical styles and settings which has allowed me to meet many wonderful new people and to share our music and ideas with each other. Now after many years of education and performing experience, I would like to also share what I have learned (and what I am still continuing to learn) with you! As a passionate educator, I enjoy sharing my musical knowledge and experience with others – I even find myself learning from my students at times! I am aware that everyone is unique, and every student has different needs and ways of learning. I am a professional musician from Sydney and have a Bachelor of Music Performance (Jazz) from the Sydney University. Over 10 years of experience teaching and over 20 years playing the trumpet. My playing experience covers all styles and includes numerous performances with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, small jazz ensembles, NDR Bigband, rock band Caravãna Sun, Tim Minchin and session work including Dancing with the Stars and The Voice in Australia. Private trumpet tuition of all ages/levels ranging from 7 years old to University students, holistic approach and/or training for relevant exams. Technical method is a refined hybrid of multiple trumpet methods tailored to the individual student, including: Caruso Method, Adams Routine, Flexus, Arbans, Schlossberg and Stamp.
