Professional saxophonist eager to teach and work to bring out the best version of yourself! The lessons are intended for all levels, children or adults. We follow a working method where you will continuously and deeply develop your musicality, way of playing, expressiveness and technique. -------------------------------------------------- ---------------------- Raúl is a Spanish saxophonist who finished his MASTER DIDACTIC in 2018 in the Ecole Supérieure des Arts in Mons. Before, he also followed a MASTER of INTERPRETATION at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (2015-2017) in the class of Alain Crepin and Simon Diricq. He studied at the "Musikene" (Higher Conservatory of Music of the Basque Country) with Eric Devallon, Tomás Jérez, Antonio Felipe Belijar and Miguel Ángel Lorente. Passionate about multidisciplinary artistic creation, he thinks of mixing all the arts in the same show as an aesthetic finality. We could observe this type of research in his project for his final master's recital in Brussels where he created a project based on Maslow's hierarchy of human needs theory where he mixes live, recorded, music and music. dance, play of light and effects under the name of: “according to Maslow…” In his career as a concert artist, he has played in different ensembles (solo, duo, trio, quartet, orchestra performances, etc.) and in different countries such as Japan (Artisanal music fair “Suono Italia” 2010), Belgium (Festival Musiq3 2016 ), Artonov Festival at BOZAR in 2016…), France (Dax chamber music festival 2011) or Spain (“Quincena Musical” music festival 2015, Aste Nagusia 2015, Heineken Jazzaldia 2014, Kutxa Festival 2015, Intercentros Melómano 2010).

Classical-contemporary saxophone (Included: approach to improvisation, harmonic understanding and basic music theory)
Student at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. From practical lessons to theoretical notions, I know how to adapt to the student and his interests to provide a course that really brings him the elements that will allow him to quickly flourish in the musical field. With already 4 years of course experience in non-profit organizations and in particular, I usually train students of all ages, beginners or more advanced. I am open to a large number of musical styles, current or old, focusing my thought on a "musical whole". I currently specialize in classical and contemporary saxophone but I am also very open to improvisation and live music such as jazz and the styles that derive from it, but also to electronic music. My final goal is to allow the student to express his ideas in music, and that he really evolves and flourishes in what pleases him. I take beginners without any knowledge of music theory. SAXOPHONE LESSONS / Master's Degree in music / 5 years living and playing in New York City!
Have you ever seen a saxophone and wondered how it feels to play it? It’s never too late to start! I will help you get started with the instrument. Do you already know how the instrument works? Great! Let’s take it to another level! I have plenty of study method books with a big range of different styles, we will find the ones that you enjoy the most and suit you better and combine it in the right way, to help you improve. Plus work on any music that you personally want to learn, name any song and I will help you learn how to play it! I myself had amazing and terrible music teachers during my learning process and believe me, I know what a difference makes… To really enjoy learning music or just to feel a ‘must study’, is the difference between ‘…I have to’ or ‘I want to!’.

Do you want to learn how to play saxophone in Amsterdam?
Music is the best way of communication in the world, the most international language and an easy way of sharing. Teaching means a lot for me; it allows me to pass on beautiful things I have learnt and at the same time to improve thanks to my students' feedback. Music and musical teaching are about joy and never-ending curiosity. My lessons are totally compiled on the student's needs, both time-wise and content-wise, and they are aimed to get quick results. We can work out many different topics together, such as learning tunes, technique, improvising, as well as approaching theory, reading, circular breathing, altissimo register and multiphonics... The lessons usually take place in my studio close by Javaplein in Amsterdam or by my house in Bos en Lommer. I work mornings and evenings as well as in the week end. Saxophone is fun! Contact me and get a first lesson as soon as possible, I am looking forward to meeting you.

How to play saxophone and the art of improvisation Groningen
I think of myself as social musician. I mostly like to play sharing music with others. My first priority goes to having an interesting/charming/ resonant full sound. Then i work on how to connect your inner ear ability so that you can play as simple as possible in a way that you can hear it before you are getting to play it on saxophone. We can also work on repertoire based on taste in music of your choice. If we choose some music that you like before actually studying it, this is a strong motivation for the student to go for it ! I am mostly an alto and tenor player but i can teach to any other kind of saxophone like baritone, soprano etc. My sound , technique and lessons are mostly coming from jazz music(blues ,swing , mostly American music of 20s-60s) I assign homework after every lesson about the technique of the saxophone but also the possible tools of improvisation in music.
