For beginner students:
We cover technical elements such as violin and bow positioning and holding, bow movement, left-hand placement, scales, and positions. We also work on developing ear training and rhythm. We may also introduce basic music theory concepts, such as reading notes.

For intermediate students, here are different approaches depending on their musical styles and desires.
For jazz and improvised music: scales or arpeggios that can be played on a given chord, modes and their use, rhythm, improvisation exercises, phrasing (swing, Latin, funk, etc.), learning jazz standards, how to amplify on stage, etc.
For classical music: scales and arpeggios, technical exercises for the left and right hand, how to put together a piece, musicality and interpretation.

About Me
I am a 29-year-old student in my first year of a Master's degree in Hochschule der Künste Bern (HKB). I live in Bern and teach violin in Bern and Fribourg.
I began playing the violin at the age of 5, initially following a classical path. For almost six years now, I have been training in jazz violin to explore other ways of playing this instrument.
I am passionate about music and eager to share this passion with my students, providing them with technical skills, developing their musicality, and fostering the joy of playing.
In terms of my musical style, I enjoy exploring a variety of sounds, ranging from jazz and Celtic music to electronic, classical, and Latin jazz.
In 2025, I launched my Stéphanie project where I explore different styles (rap, French song and jazz among others), in which I pay tribute to my instrument and to female composers and performers.
