I teach piano, composition, and creative work with sound for beginners, intermediate, and advanced students.

With over 15 years of teaching experience and a strong background as a concert pianist and composer, I am currently finishing my Master’s degree in Composition at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp . I combine classical training with contemporary and experimental music practices.

My piano lessons focus not only on technique, but on developing musical thinking and individuality. In composition, I help students explore both traditional structures and modern approaches, including sound-based composition, timbre, and texture.

I also work with students interested in sound art, electronic music, or creative listening.

Each lesson is tailored to the student — whether you want to start from zero, improve your skills, or develop your own artistic direction.

I am a dedicated piano, composition, and music theory teacher with more than 15 years of experience working with both children and adults. My teaching approach is flexible: I adapt to the student’s level, goals, and personality. With beginners, I focus on building a solid technical and musical foundation in a motivating and supportive atmosphere. With advanced students, I explore interpretation, creativity, and deeper understanding of musical structure.
I believe that learning music should combine discipline and joy. Whether preparing for exams, competitions, or simply playing for pleasure, I help students discover their own musical voice while developing strong skills in piano playing, music theory, and composition.

Lessons in piano, harpsichord, and historical and modern cello, with program and repertoire, adapted to the goals and speed of each student, whether young, not so young, or adult, for a general introduction to these instruments, for preparation for high music education, as a supplementary aid for exams in music academies, or for a hobby, or for amateur group music-making, or for developing qualities as concentration, coordination, discipline, expressibility, awareness of styles and music history.
In my teaching, I rely mostly on old traditional methods, books, and repertoire, which have proved their efficiency over the time. I also make use of the teaching tradition of partimenti of the old Neapolitan conservatories - exercises for composing that can be applied from early stage. This not only adds a creative element soon after very beginning, but also teaches via practice the basics of harmony and polyphony.
Lessons can be combined (+30min.) with theory/solfege (ear training), if the student wishes.

I have been teaching for more than 15 years, privately, in Brussels, and in New York in the past, more than 100 students.
I am a graduate of Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, in baroque cello and harpsichord, but I play also modern cello, organ, and piano.

Concernant le contenu du cours je le module en fonction de vos attentes et objectifs.

Je lie systématiquement le travail concret de l'instrument ( Classique, Variété ou Jazz ) avec un apprentissage minimal des éléments de base de la pratique musicale en général : théorie de la musique, formation de l'oreille intérieure, développement de la sensibilité harmonique, mélodique et rythmique, solfège etc... Je peux volontiers aborder tout cela plus profondément à la demande de l'élève, c'est passionnant aussi vous verrez !

La première rencontre sera l'occasion de discuter de tout cela, afin de mettre en place un cadre adopté à votre profil (Jeune enfant débutant, adolescent confirmé, adulte en reprise ou autres...)

Je considère que l'essentiel est de trouver un bon équilibre entre les exigences de rigueur inévitables pour progresser dans l'apprentissage du piano et le plaisir immédiat de jouer de la musique, qu'on est en droit d'attendre d'un si bel instrument !

Je suis une jeune pianiste diplômée, actuellement étudiante au Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel.
J'attache une forte importance à l'enseignement depuis le plus jeune âge, ayant été guidée par un père professeur de piano. J'ai commencé à exercer ce métier dès l'âge de 16ans, en ayant de nombreux élèves particuliers réguliers ainsi qu'en ayant travaillé dans plusieurs écoles de musique.
Le rapport professeur-élèves-parents est très important pour moi, afin d'avoir un bon suivi de l'élève. Ma méthode est simple; que l'élève se sente en confiance et puisse s'exprimer librement à travers son instrument.
Ayant eu un père professeur de piano, j'ai toujours été baignée dans cet univers. My teaching is grounded in the Faber Piano Adventures method and enriched with creative activities such as improvisation, four-hand duets, and simple composition exercises. For more advanced students, I also incorporate selected excerpts from Mikrokosmos by Béla Bartók, as well as pieces from the classical repertoire chosen in dialogue with the student.

My name is Marta, and I'm from Galicia (Spain). I completed my piano Bachelor and postgraduate studies in the Higher School of Music of the Basque Country, and I'm pursuing now a Master's degree in the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp.

During 10 years I've been teaching private lessons and working in Music Schools facilitating and guiding very different learning processes: from introducing young children to music and the piano through play or teaching basic harmony for song accompaniment, to supporting more experienced and dedicated students preparing official examinations. Always trying to create a musical and pianistic learning process as enriching, coherent, enjoyable and organic as possible.
