Hello everyone, my name is Gyuhyeong, born and raised in South Korea and currently based in Amsterdam as a dancer.

In my Korean lessons, I focus on building a learning process that stays engaging and connected to what *you* love. Whether you are into Korean music, movies, food culture, or daily conversation, I will design a personalized curriculum to fit your interests and learning goals.

During our first lesson, we will get to know each other and explore your interests and motivation for learning Korean. You will take notes during the class, while I share personalized materials such as PDFs, videos, or song lyrics. After this session, I will provide you with study notes and small homework to help you review and give you the overview of how our lessons are going to look like.

Within your personalized curriculum, we will explore the pronunciation and sound connection of Korean, expressions used in real-life contexts through film, lyrics, recipes, etc., and gradually move toward expressing your own thoughts and stories in Korean.

I aim to make the learning experience not only educational but also creative and enjoyable, helping you find small moments of improvement and confidence in your journey of learning Korean!

우리 수업은 이렇게 진행될 거예요!

I plan to integrate the techniques of drama education into teaching Korean! It's like teaching a baby their mother tongue! I will teach every lesson Korean through actions and acting out situations. Learning this way will make Korean feel much more familiar in your daily life compared to learning through textbooks and grammar.

Just like teaching a native language to a child, our lessons will be fun and playful, and slow. So, let go of the idea that 'studying means sitting at a desk and memorizing words and grammar.' We will progress together and create our own materials.

- For Basic level:
We will start from the very basic level, focusing on Korean alphabet spelling (ᄀ,ᄂ,ᄃ,ᄅ, ᅡ,ᅣ,ᅥ,ᅧ ...) and pronunciation. We will emphasize speaking!

- For Beginner level:
we will use children's storybooks and short videos (the ones I actually watched and grew up with) as learning tools. Up to the beginner level, we will concentrate on listening and speaking rather than writing. We all learn by listening and speaking when we are babies.

- For intermediate level:
we will use short novels and movies. From intermediate level onwards, we will practice listening and writing down what we hear, along with expressing our thoughts in a diary.

-For advanced level:
Even at the advanced level, the format will be similar to the intermediate level, with a focus on 10 minutes of conversation. We will record these conversations and transcribe them, making improvements for more natural expressions!
