I love teaching children and young people how to play the piano. It’s amazing to see how much progress that can be made even in one year. Children can go from not being able to read a note of music, to reading music and playing a couple of small but complex pieces by the end of the year. The relationship with the student is very important, being able to encourage and interact well with each individual, to bring out the best in them. I teach in your home, so there is no need to waste time travelling to a class. Beginner and intermediate students can easily learn and practice on a good keyboard, before you decide to invest in a piano. If a student would like a more formal education in music I can enroll, and prepare them for ABRSM exams. For journeys of more than 15 minutes by bike I charge a supplement.
