Hi I’m Clara, I’m 18 years old (2007) and I’m following lessons with Erik Sluys and Valery Oistrakh. I started playing violin when I was 4 years old. I’m Clara I’m 18 years old and I’d love to help you teach violin! I play violin ever since I was little and I’m very passionate about music and playing violin. I’m half Belgian and half Argentinian. I speak Dutch fluently but I can also teach in English. I speak very average/little French.

Formación

I started violin when I was 4 years old and got private lessons with Joanna Vlaeminck. Later on I also got violin lessons with Erik Sluys, Alice van Leuven and a masterclass with Guido de Neve. Currently I’m getting lessons from Valery Oistrakh and Erik Sluys. I was taught violin with the Suzuki Method which I personally think is a great way to learn the basics. I would start with very basic things like the bow hold and posture. Then afterwards step by step playing short pieces from the Suzuki books. I have them at home and you can buy them afterwards. We wouldn’t do all of them as it’s mostly just for basics and not for fast improvement. I will teach you violin but also tell you about mastering the art behind music in general.

I’m currently a student at the Academy of Art in Anderlecht and Royal Conservatory of Brussels.

I’ve been concert master in the Brussels Young Philharmonic Orchestra. I played in the KCB chamber orchestra (Royal Conservatory of Brussels). And now I’m studying in the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. I also did an orchestra project in the Netherlands and have been playing in YOF (Youth Orchestra Flanders) in august (2025).

Viola/Violin for all levels and ages.

I graduated from Viola at the Koninklijk Conservatorium of Brussels, and also as a music Professor for all levels from the Conservatory of Buenos Aires (Argentina), specialized in viola.I have experience teaching music to kids through games, in school orchestras or privately. I also teach adults, adjusting the class to their interests and needs. During the lessons, the student will also learn music theory integrated with the instrument class.

After studying at the A. Steffani Conservatory of Castelfranco Veneto in Italy where he obtained the highest distinction, Gabriele then completed his Master's degree in violin with distinction at the Royal Conservatory of Mons with M° Eliot Lawson and Wibert Aerts. During his training, Gabriele also studied with Ilya Grubert at the Fondazione Musicale Santa Cecilia in Italy, Elina Vahala at the Hochschule Fur Musik Karlsruhe and took masterclasses with Ivry Gitlis, Stefano Pagliani, Elisabeth Perry, Igor Volochine, Vineta Sareika, Kati Sebestyén and Chouchane Sironossian. He is currently studying at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with M° Shirly Laub and M° Frédéric d'Ursel in a specialized master's degree and Agrégation at the Royal Conservatory of Mons.

In 2018, Gabriele won the audition for the Jeugd Antwerp Simphony Orchestra (ASO) and for the Nationaal Jeugd Orkest (NJO); in 2019 he won the audition for European Union Youth Orchestra (Euyo) and Orchestra del Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza (OTO) and is also selected in 2020 for the Young Belgian Strings as well as the Antwerp Philarmonic Orchestra. He has collaborated with several orchestras in Italy and Belgium, including the Boho Strings Orchestra in Antwerp, the Ataneres Ensemble in Louvain, the Chapelle Musicale de Tournai in Tournai, the Assai Symphonia in Hasselt, the Orchestra of Archi Italiani and the Orchestra del Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, Italy.

Very involved in the chamber music repertoire, Gabriele founded in 2018 with the pianist Julien Lejeune the Duo Aréthuse, in which they explore the romantic French and contemporary Italian repertoire, in search of an interpretation marked by accuracy, simplicity and of modernity. They are at the initiative of the creation in 2019 of the Hellens Ensemble, consisting of a string quartet, a piano and a lyrical singer, an ensemble with which they are interested in Belgian music and more particularly to the repertoire with voice.

Gabriele also studied at the University of Padua at the Faculty of History and Musicology.

In my classes I aim to transmit first of all my passion and love for music.
I like to prepare a personalized programme adapted to the level and exigencies of each pupil.
I also aim to include some violin duos, to be played with me during the lessons, as I believe playing with other musicians is one of the best ways to enjoy music and learn useful musical and technical skills at the same time.
Another essential factor in my classes is correct and natural posture while playing, to let music heal our souls instead of hurting our bodies! ;) I have been practicing Yoga for a few years, and have experienced the importance of good posture and targeted light stretching, especially for younger players in a phase of growth and change.
I like to help pupils to develop good technical skills in a fun way, always applying technique to targeted repertoire and keeping in mind that technique is nothing but a means of expressing ourselves through music.

I give lessons in English, French, Italian and Spanish.

If you live in or around Mechelen or the Flemsih part of Belgium, and interested in violin/viola lessons, you've found the right teacher.

As a passionate performer and teacher, I offer private lessons in English, Spanish or Dutch (though my Dutch is not yet good enough) to individuals of any age group. From most basic to advanced and professional level.
I am very patient with the students, specially with kids and beginners.
There are certain materials, methods, and a repertoire lists that I will rely on for most teaching, but every student will receive advice and exercises tailored to their specific needs.
If you are interested in lessons for yourself or for a friend/family member, don't hesitate to contact me and we can discuss teaching methods and materials, scheduling and more in greater detail.

Depending on the age/size of the student, borrowing or renting instruments is possible.
