I have played percussion since the age of seven, when I was introduced to multiple instruments such as the marimba, snare drum, vibraphone, etc. Over the years, I was fortunate to have been guided by so many different teachers and got to know a lot about music in general, with particular incidence in the areas of mallet playing, chamber music and improvisation/composition. All these invaluable experiences have culminated in a desire to share and grow the percussion community!

Orchestral experience with Rotterdam Phillarmonisch, Sinfonia Rotterdam, among others. Member of Kāna Trio and Lausanne Marimba Ensemble. Collaborated with Asko/Schoenberg, Mallet Collective, deDoelen Ensemble, HIIIT, among others.

Hello everyone!
My name is João, piano and harpsichord player.
I started playing the piano at the age of 7 years old and, since then, I completely fell in love with all the keyboard instruments and its possibilities of expressivity, the clear sense of making music, interacting with other musicians, for my own pleasure, and for the others. The harpsichord came in my life when I was 15 years old. I absolutely love Classical and Baroque Music and as well as Jazz and Pop.

I started teaching piano at the age of 20 and I must confess that it became a great passion in my life!
I love to see my students improving, getting acquainted with different music styles and motivated.
I'm skilled in teaching kids and adults, beginners or experienced with the keyboard and/or music theory.

Therefore, I use different methods, according to the student's needs and expectations. Each student is special so a lesson can differ, depending on the student's level. Normally, I start with warming up and technical exercises (posture is very important!), a brief music theory contextualisation of what is going to be approached in the lesson and, most importantly, have fun and provide a nice atmosphere during the lesson.

I've graduated in piano and harpsichord at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 2007. In 2012 I've graduated in harpsichord at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, obtaining my Master degree at the same institution in 2014. Currently, I'm doing my Ph.D. studies in Performing Arts at Leiden University/Orpheus Instituut Gent. I teach theoretical music studies at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and, eventually, accompany and coach students from the Young Talent Music Department. In 2014 I've founded the Baroque Music Orchestra Le Concert d'Apollon, taking the lead of harpsichord player and music director.

If you are willing to learn how to play the piano or continue your studies, it will be a pleasure for me to show you how learning a keyboard instrument has so much to add in your life. I can give lessons at my studio in The Hague or travel to your destination. I look forward to meeting you and guide you through the wonderful world of music!

Beginners- will learn how to read music (simple piano pieces) , and basic piano techniques (scales, apregios) with some music theory.

Intermediate - more advanced piano techniques (etudes, inventions) and repertoire. Working on musical phrases and developing personal sound. Learning how to use the right/left pedals.

Advanced- learning more complex repertoire, including a variety of etudes, preludes and fugues, and medium duration piano compositions.

Japanese professional pianist, conductor and composer, graduated at Conservatoire du Paris, Tokyo University of Arts and Fontys, I give music lessons according to the needs (including the place of the lesson) of each student.
I have been teacher at Conservatoire de Paris (CNSM) for 8 years. Currently I work sometimes at Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag.
As my parents who are both chorus conductor and music teacher, teaching is always my big passion beside of my activity on stage ! I am an American harpist holding degrees in harp from the University of North Carolina, the National Conservatory of France in Lyon, and currently studying at the Koninklijk Conservatorium den Haag. I am happy to teach students of any age and skill level in the Hague area, either at my home or yours! I am able to teach all styles of playing from classical to jazz and pop, and I am happy to cater my teaching to the interests of the student. I am fluent in English and French.

I’m Alessandro, I graduated in Pescara and Bologna conservatories in piano and chamber music and now I’m attending the master in harpsichord at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague.

I’m offering piano, harpsichord, basso continuo and music theory lessons for beginners and advanced in English, French and Italian.
In recent years I have had several teaching experiences, in Bologna and Paris I taught children from 5 years old to 60 years old adults both individual and group lessons.

I teach all levels and styles (classical, pop, jazz, etc.). It can be with or without theory, depending on what you prefer.
