By the end of the course, students will understand Core Concepts and Theories of any one of the subjects they have chosen to understand and learn:
Learn key ideas from gender theory (e.g., gender performativity, intersectionality)
Explore sociological perspectives on class, race, norms, and deviance
Study anthropological approaches to culture, rituals, kinship, and belief systems
Examine psychological theories of behavior, emotion, personality, and cognition

Students can bring a laptop or a notebook and a pen/pencil to each session. We’ll be discussing different topics and sometimes doing small writing or thinking exercises together.
I will provide handouts, slides, or short readings when needed, and we’ll often reflect on real-life situations and current events to understand the concepts better.
This class is interactive and flexible, you are welcome to ask questions, share your views, or even suggest a topic you're curious about in sociology, psychology, anthropology, or gender studies.

Hello! I’m Dr. Subaita, an experienced educator and researcher with a PhD and MPhil in Anthropology, an MSc in Psychology, and a recently completed Master’s in Sociology from KU Leuven, Belgium. I have over six years of university-level teaching and mentoring experience across diverse academic and cultural settings.

My classes combine academic depth with an accessible and engaging approach. Whether you're a high school student preparing for exams, a university student seeking support, or a curious learner interested in human behavior and society, I’m here to guide you. I specialize in subjects such as Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, and Gender Studies, and I tailor each session to your pace and interests.

I’m passionate about helping students think critically, understand complex theories, and apply knowledge to real-world questions. My sessions are interactive, inclusive, and designed to build your confidence in both academic performance and broader understanding. I am a lively and fun-loving teacher who believes that learning should be engaging, joyful, and deeply human. My teaching style blends academic depth with warmth, humor, and empathy.

I particularly enjoy working with curious, reflective, and fun-loving students—those who are not afraid to ask any kind of question without hesitation, knowing that inquiry is the path to deeper understanding. I create a safe and supportive environment where every question is welcome, and where learning is as enjoyable as it is meaningful. If you are someone who values both academic excellence and deeper understanding, we will work well together.

“Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.” – William Butler Yeats
This is the spirit I bring into every class, helping you connect theory with your insights and guiding you to think critically and independently.

Fluent in English and trained in cross-cultural communication, I also offer support with essay writing, research methods, and thematic analysis.

Let’s explore the world of human behavior and society together.

Self-Inquiry is a mindfulness-based healing method, ideal for people dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, burnout and psychosomatic symptoms.

I love things that are simple, practical, and effective... something you should be able to explain to a 10-year-old. Self-Inquiry is a method for restoring and maintaining healthy balance — something that really should be taught in school. It is practical, straightforward, and profoundly effective.

The method is based on the principle that the signals we receive from the body are designed to guide us toward a happy, healthy, and long life. In spiritual traditions, this collection of signals is often called “the Inner Compass.”

Just like a small cut on your finger heals on its own when the right conditions are created, the body can also heal energetic, emotional, and mental blockages when we listen and support the process.

The body is constantly communicating with you — through pain, tension, pressure but also through feelings and emotions, love, inspiration, curiosity, and vitality. Even though the body is always trying to guide us toward happiness, many of us in the Western world have never learned how to listen to it or act in alignment with its signals.
So... back to basics!

From my own experience, I know how tempting it can be to search for happiness outside yourself while ignoring what the body is trying to tell you. Fifteen years ago, I ended up in a burnout — a very loud message from the body that it was time for rest and reflection.

The good news is: you don’t need to wait until things get that far.

During the sessions, you will learn:
- how to reconnect with yourself, your body, and the signals it gives you — and how to translate those signals into daily life
- how to live in alignment with your deepest truth, your personal boundaries, and your deeper longings

I will give you the tools to explore your inner world and support your own healing. And I will guide you through regular, facilitated Self-Inquiry sessions to help you deepen the process. The combination of personal practice and periodic guided sessions provides the best results.

Additional Information for Students

These are online sessions, so you will need:
- a computer or laptop with a camera
- a stable internet connection
- a notebook for taking notes
