The clarinet is a single-reed musical instrument in the woodwind family, with a nearly cylindrical bore and a flared bell.

Clarinets comprise a family of instruments of differing sizes and pitches. The clarinet family is the largest woodwind family, ranging from the BB♭ contrabass to the E♭ soprano. The B♭ soprano clarinet is the most common type, and is the instrument usually indicated by the word "clarinet".

German instrument maker Johann Christoph Denner is generally credited with inventing the clarinet sometime around the year 1700 by adding a register key to the chalumeau, an earlier single-reed instrument. Over time, additional keywork and airtight pads were added to improve the tone and playability. Today the clarinet is a standard fixture of the orchestra and concert band and is used in classical music, military bands, klezmer, jazz, and other styles.

I can help with technique, personal improvement , mental and focus techniques, as well as preparing for any specific goals such as school programs/youth orchestra auditions etc. Music genres: classical, jazz and modern music. My goal in teaching is always to encourage curiosity and motivation for making music.

I am a professional flutist with over 5 years of experience in teaching. I have worked with people aged 5 to 75 and taught in five different languages: English, German, Ukrainian, Polish, and French. I hold a pedagogical qualification from the Academy of Music in Krakow, where I obtained a Master's degree with distinction in flute performance. Recently, I graduated from the Conservatoire Royal de Liège, where I earned a specialized Master's degree in flute and piccolo.

With my help, my students have become first prize winners in competitions like the renowned "Jugend musiziert" in Germany. They have also prepared for playing in youth orchestras such as Das Bayerische Landesjugendorchester or worked on repertoire for different kinds of concerts. As a teacher, I am very flexible and always strive to adapt to the needs of my students. I am passionate about the flute and music in general, and I greatly enjoy sharing my knowledge with others.

Diogo es un músico curioso que forma parte de diversos proyectos como el Dúo Kaamos (música contemporánea para saxofón y soprano), música de cámara con el pianista Lambis Pavlou y Cantus Portugueses (música tradicional portuguesa con un toque moderno). También toca como miembro de los grupos de música contemporánea Korvat Auki y Nyky Ensemble.
Sus principales intereses musicales actualmente son las colaboraciones con compositores vivos, la música de cámara con diferentes conjuntos y la improvisación interdisciplinaria.
Las actuaciones de Diogo han tenido lugar en numerosos lugares como la Filarmónica de Essen, el OrchesterZentrum Dortmund, el Music Center Helsinki, el Castillo de Turku, el Auditorio Liceu de Barcelona, la Casa da Música do Porto y muchos más.

El reconocimiento de Diogo incluye premios en algunos concursos internacionales y el reciente reconocimiento en el concurso Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy 2022 para Conjuntos Contemporáneos y la reciente participación en el prestigioso Concurso Josip Nochta en Zagreb, Croacia.

I have been playing the clarinet for more than 20 years and would be happy to guide you through your musical journey.

I hold two Master’s degrees from the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) and previously studied at the Central Music School of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory.

I offer clarinet lessons for beginners, intermediate and professional students, both children and adults.

In the lessons we can work on:

• embouchure and articulation
• learning repertoire, etudes or arrangements
• music reading and rhythm
• musical interpretation
• orchestra excepts and many more
