Hoe zit zo’n les nu in elkaar?

Een saxofoon les is elke keer volledig anders. Misschien leren we de ene week een moeilijk technisch stukje en de week erna een populair liedje naar eigen keuze? Soms praten we een beetje over muziektheorie, de andere keer zijn we misschien wel aan het improviseren.
De eerste lessen werken we vooral op het aanleren van een goede basis: een goede houding, de juiste ademhalingstechniek, de vingerzetting, de mondstand en het blazen. Ook een beetje kennis over het instrument zelf wordt zeker niet overgeslagen.

Moet ik op voorhand al muziektheorie kennen?

Neen. Tijdens de les zal ik jou muziektheorie aanleren, om dit erna direct in de praktijk toepassen. Wees gerust, dit komt niet vooraf aan het bespelen van de saxofoon. Voor de mensen die toch al een achtergrond hebben in de muziektheorie, des te beter. In de lessen kan ik jouw theoretische kennis alleen maar bijschaven.

Hoe vaak gaan de lessen door?

Je kiest zelf hoe vaak de saxofoon les doorgaat, dit hangt steeds af van wat je zelf graag wil bereiken. Het zit natuurlijk zo dat hoe regelmatiger je les volgt, hoe groter mijn engagement is. Dit omdat de opvolging dan gemakkelijker verloopt. Dit hangt natuurlijk volledig af van jouw eigen werk/school/leef schema.

Hoe vaak zal ik moeten oefenen?

Elk instrument leren kost tijd en moeite. De ideale oplossing is dat je elke dag een beetje kan oefenen, maar ik weet dat dit voor velen niet mogelijk is. Het is vooral een kwestie van zo consequent mogelijk te oefenen. Liever elke dag vijf minuten, dan eenmaal per week voor twee uur.

Hoe lang duurt het vooraleer ik bekende liedjes zal kunnen spelen?

Dat hangt volledig van jezelf af. Als je van dag één elke dag kan oefenen, zal het helemaal niet lang duren. Als jij daarentegen één keer om de twee weken jouw saxofoon vastneemt, zal het een hele tijd langer duren.

Vanaf en tot welke leeftijd kan ik saxofoon leren spelen?

Op muziek staat geen leeftijd. De jonge kinderen kunnen best wel even testen of ze een saxofoon al kunnen vasthouden. Voor de allerkleinsten is het aan te raden om op een gebogen sopraan saxofoon te leren spelen. Voor alle andere geïnteresseerden is de alt-saxofoon de beste optie.

Zusätzliche Informationen

Een goede camera en microfoon maakt de les makkelijker, maar het gaat perfect via een computer, smartphone of tablet.

Al op jonge leeftijd begon ik met muziek. Ik startte mijn muzikale carrière aan de Muziekacademie te Gent. Enkele jaren later besloot ik er volledig voor te gaan en ging ik saxofoon studeren aan de muziekhumaniora. In MUDA kreeg ik les van Andy Declerck. Ik studeerde er af als Laureaat Jazz & Popmuziek in 2014. Toen werd ik toegelaten aan het Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Daar studeerde ik voor één jaar, en kreeg ik les van enkele uitstekende muzikanten als Jasper Blom, Simon Rigter, Marc Scholten, etc.

In 2019 haalde ik mijn masterdiploma aan het Conservatorium van Gent, Hier kreeg ik les van Bart Defoort (Brussels Jazz Orchestra). In 2020 haal ik mijn educatieve masterdiploma.

In 2013 begon ik met les te geven. Ik geef aan zowel jonge kinderen (7 jaar), als aan volwassenen (75+) saxofoon les. Naast privé les geef ik les op de Academie van Geraardsbergen en Izegem. Wil je weten hoe zo’n les in elkaar zit? Neem een kijkje bij De Lessen.

Ik speel(de) in verschillende projecten waaronder, maar niet uitsluitend, Screens (Gent Jazz, Brussels Jazz Weekend, Winnaar XL Concours, Ham Sessions), Jake Walker (Vooruit, met tours in Duitsland en Groot-Brittanië), het Wouter Van den Broeck Quartet, het Ghent Youth Jazz Orchestra (met een kleine tour in Japan en Groot-Brittanië), Tudau Quartet en anderen. Ook als vervanger ben ik te zien bij Eclectiv, Bigband ‘86, etc.

Wanneer ik niet bezig ben met muziek, kan je me vinden aan een klimmuur, of al wandelend in de natuur.

During this class we will put a special focus on improvisation and expand the thematic of Level 1 & 2. During this course Davide will talk about all the most common vocabulary of bebop improvisation skills: Arpeggios, Scales, Diatonic Approaches, Chromatic Approaches, Double Chromatic, Triple, and the most efficient ways of studying them as a vocalist. The goal of these workshops is to improve our ears, timing, confidence and leadership as singers.

Hello, my name is Anna, and I’ve been playing the cello for 22 years. I have a masters degree both in performative arts and teaching cello from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary. I have acquired a wide range of tools to inspire my pupils individually in their step-by-step development. I teach learners of all ages and levels, my students are 5-60 years old, from beginner to advanced.
