This class is for those who are currently learning Latin at Primary School level or would like to learn how to read, write and speak in Latin.

If you have not learnt Latin before and are new to this then that is fine!

I am able to teach students whether they are in school or home educated

All ability levels are catered for.

Worksheets are provided for each lesson.

Assessments are also conducted at the end of each topic.

I am a highly experienced teacher based in London with a subject leadership background that has taught all year groups in Key Stage 2.

Throughout my teaching career I have maintained a strong record of creating an engaging environment for learning and supporting young people of different abilities, with effective challenge to enable their progression.

I am able to use a variety of approaches and strategies when teaching lessons to respond to the strengths and needs of all pupils so that they are taught effectively. I am someone who is not afraid to adapt and change if things do not go to plan.

I ensure a high level of attention to detail when planning and delivering fun and engaging lessons for students.

Experienced Key Stage 2 Maths and English tutor, 11+ Preparation

I am an experienced Key Stage 2 Class Teacher who has worked in Years 3-6 in a variety of primary school settings in both inner and outer London.

I have excellent subject knowledge in both Maths and English (This includes SPAG and Guided Reading).

I have a strong record of ensuring every pupil makes significant progress in their academic studies.

I also prepare pupils for their SATS, the 11 plus and GCSE Maths.

I provide extra support to pupils who maybe finding Maths or English challenging in primary school or are behind in terms of progression. I also do mastery in Maths for those who are working at Greater Depth.

I am also able to tutor pupils who are home educated.

I believe it is crucial to establish positive working relationships with all students as well as ensuring that there are no barriers to learning. I have experience in teaching pupils that have English as an Additional Language along with SEND pupils.

I do assign homework after each lesson to consolidate learning and to check progress of pupils. I do expect it to be completed prior to the next lesson.

As long as you try your best that is all that matters. My goal is to ensure you are engaged, challenged but not overwhelmed.

Latin is a rather subtle language and for some, almost enigmatic, as the style, vocabulary and syntax can be confusing. However, all it takes is a little "Ariadne's thread" to find your way through this labyrinth for the uninitiated. Don't panic! A practical method exists that will put you at ease when faced with any Latin challenge. The delicate syntax of this language will no longer be a torture for you and you might even find it fun to practice reading and understanding texts that previously seemed inaccessible or even hermetic to you. Reading, analyzing, understanding, and translating a Latin text is possible. And even - why not? - writing in Latin.
As an experienced teacher, I offer you supervision (online or at home) taking into account the learner's level and adopting the most appropriate method for adequate monitoring. Online, the sessions will be recorded, if the listener wishes, and the video will be available for revision. You will have the rigor that this ancient language requires, today more current than ever. Declension, conjugation, syntax will always be a passion for you, by following the method that we propose to improve your level. You will soon translate texts from Latin to French (version) and from French to Latin (theme) in a simple and effective way.
If you are an intermediate (non-exam) student, looking to upgrade and fill the gaps that could potentially hinder you in the exam class, you will find the skills and experience competition to be sure to meet the challenge. Whatever your fear or certainty of the weakness of your level, our promise is to raise you to performance.
