Hello, I'm Jia. I'm currently in my first year of pursuing a Master's degree in cello at the Royal Academy of Music in Denmark. I completed my undergraduate studies at the Central Conservatory of Music in China and have 5 years of teaching experience. Whether you are a complete beginner with no prior experience, someone who's interested in learning the cello just for the love of it, or if you aspire to use the cello for university admissions or competitions, I can help you.

If you are in Copenhagen, we can have in-person lessons. However, if you are in a different area, we'll need to schedule online lessons, and you should be prepared with some equipment for online learning, such as a phone stand or an iPad for better video quality.

I teach English varying the focus based on the student's needs. We can prepare for US college applications, or focus on essays for school.
I also tutor French for students who want to practice outside of school, or beginners.
In addition, I've studied classical voice and cello and teach both at the beginner level.

• My cello lessons are adapted to the level and expectations of each student
• A review of the student's goals and expectations will be made during the first lesson.
• My main goal will always be to transmit the joy that comes with learning music and the cello.
• To achieve this a good balance of technical and musical work is necessary in my eyes.
• I support the student in discovering an efficient working method

My goal is to accompany you wherever you are in your musical journey in a fun and encouraging way !

With me you will :
- Beginner students : build solid fundamentals in violin technique and music reading
- Intermediate students : develop your sound, repertoire and confidence
- And most of all, grow your passion for violin and music in a cool, relaxed yet organised way :)

About me : I started playing the violin at a very young age and soon joined an orchestra. Moving frequently with my family allowed me to study with teachers of many different backgrounds and to explore a variety of techniques. Now based in Copenhagen, I continue to play in an orchestra and the violin still has a great place in my life.

With over ten years of experience, I’m passionate about sharing my love for the instrument. I believe music should be learned in a respectful, supportive and motivating environment, while following a clear and structured progression. This is exactly what I aim to offer my students: high-quality, personalised teaching in a positive atmosphere that inspires progress and joy in music !
