A computer science and applied mathematics engineer (PhD in applied mathematics), I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in mathematics. I have also completed teacher training (agrégation) and taught mathematics at Collège Saint-Pierre (Uccle) as well as in two European Schools, in French.

My name is Arjen. I give tutoring and exam training in math and physics for upper secondary education (Dutch HAVO/VWO, IB, or other similar programmes). With a completed degree in Aerospace Engineering, I help students not only with solving problems, but especially with understanding the “why” behind the theory.

I start with a short diagnosis: where is the real difficulty? Based on this, I create a personal learning plan that I share with the student. In this way we work in a focused way on those areas where most is to be gained. During the sessions, the focus is on recognizing structure and analyzing problems step by step, so that students become more independent and their confidence gets a boost.

Tijdens de Cito-training gaan we actief aan de slag met verschillende soorten opdrachten uit rekenen, taal en begrijpend lezen. We oefenen met echte voorbeeldvragen en kijken samen hoe je die het beste kunt aanpakken. Niet alleen het juiste antwoord is belangrijk, maar vooral hoe je daar komt.

We leren handige manieren om vragen stap voor stap op te lossen. Soms betekent dat dat we een andere aanpak proberen als iets niet meteen lukt. Leerlingen ontdekken wat voor hen goed werkt en oefenen met het aanpassen van hun strategie.

In de lessen werken we afwisselend zelfstandig, in kleine groepjes en samen met de leerkracht. We bespreken antwoorden, vergelijken aanpakken en leren van elkaar. Ook oefenen we met het werken onder tijdsdruk, zodat leerlingen hier vertrouwd mee raken.

Er is veel ruimte om vragen te stellen en extra uitleg te krijgen. Zo bouwen leerlingen niet alleen kennis op, maar ook vertrouwen in hun eigen kunnen.

Hey, I am Sevag and I am 19 years old. I graduated from secondary education in science with 7 hours of mathematics at Lutgardis College in Oudergem. In my free time, I help students with tutoring and study guidance.

I can help with mathematics, biology, chemistry, natural sciences, and general study guidance. I can also provide support with homework and test preparation. My goal is to explain the material clearly and practice together so that everything is better understood.

During the lessons, we first discuss the theory and then do exercises to apply the material. I adapt my explanation to the student's level and try to explain everything as simply and structured as possible. This gives the student more insight and confidence.
