Hello.

This is Mike.

Born and raised in Everett Seattle Washington & in Stockholm Sweden.

My great great grandparents are from Sweden so I can speak some Swedish and even some Norwegian, Danish and German.
My family name is of Swedish nobility and was knighted 1650 and of fun fact I am actually 233 I line to become the king of Sweden. I lived in Scandinavia for a while.

I have an older brother and 2 sisters ( triplet)
My wife is Japanese from Niigata and I have a daughter.

I went to medical school for a while to become a EMT ( Emergency Medical Technician aka paramedic.
Then I was in the military for 1,5 years trained as a sniper.

I globe trotted the world after the military and ended up in Australia wherever I met my wife and soon found myself in Japan.
I have been here on and of for some years but currently staying here.

I teach multiple jobs here such as eikawa kids, elementary schools, private classes, corporate classes, even a government class,
Hospital classes, community class and so on.

I used to live in Iidabashi Chiyoda-Ku but currently stay in Akatsuka Shinmachi.

My hobbies in Japan are Origami, Bonsai, Aikido, Forex trading and other are astral projection, the supernatural/paranormal, ice hockey, fishing, motor bike racing, hunting, sky diving and in the USA I was also a twister, ghost and a UFO hunter/chaser on my free time and more.

My name is Jokin and I came to Tokyo with the Working Holiday Visa the very 1st of May

I have a SFL (Spanish as foreign language) certificate and experience teaching the language to foreign people in my hometown, San Sebastian.

I support conversational teaching. Students must take part on class in order to improve and remove the fear of failure. I think is the best way of learning a language, talking from experience: I was taught English at school during all my lifetime, however it was not until I lived in Canada and was forced to speak the language that I mastered it.

However, students are free to choose the preferable learning method, being possible focusing more on the grammar.

We can have classes at coffee shops, libraries or wherever your preference is.

Without going any further, I look forward starting to give lessons.

Using Latin American Spanish (from Mexico) and English, I will teach you how to speak Spanish more naturally. As a native Spanish speaker who has been studying Japanese, I have noted various similarities between the languages. Noticing these can help you learn Spanish faster and acquire a more native accent.

All proficiency levels and age groups are welcome!

You can specify what you need or want help with. For example, if you would like to focus on tips for memorizing conjugations, tips on differentiating between similar words/grammar, or if you just want practice speaking about various topics in Spanish.

NOTE: The instruction and discussion will mainly be conducted in English and Spanish. My Japanese fluency is at the conversational level, but I can understand and speak Japanese. The goal is to get you more comfortable speaking Spanish though, so please try your best! However, having studied various languages myself, I understand it can be stressful or intimidating to practice using a new language. We will work together!

My specialty is English for Business, I can help you improve your language in the workplace and help you study for exams such as the Eiken and TOEIC. Writing essays, emails, and research papers are also part of my portfolio. As a student myself, I can guide you through my methods of teaching and hopefully share my passion for languages. I also accept students who only want to improve their conversation in English or seek assistance in homework. I am happy to adapt to the student's level and needs.
