- Wat houden de lessen in?
De bijlessen richten zich op wiskunde binnen het secundair onderwijs. Ik help zowel bij het begrijpen van de theorie als bij de praktische toepassing ervan in oefeningen. Indien nodig voorzie ik extra studiemateriaal, zoals schema’s, samenvattingen of hulpmiddeltjes, om de leerstof duidelijker te maken.

- Mijn aanpak
Ik ontvang graag op voorhand een overzicht van het studiemateriaal, toetsen of taken waarin moeilijkheden naar voren komen. Zo kan ik de lessen goed voorbereiden en gericht werken aan de specifieke noden van de leerling. Op basis hiervan kan ik ook het niveau beter inschatten.

Tijdens de bijles probeer ik de leerstof op een eenvoudige en begrijpelijke manier uit te leggen, vaak vanuit een andere invalshoek dan in de klas. Mijn doel is dat de leerling de leerstof écht begrijpt en meer zelfvertrouwen krijgt. Samen vooruitgang zien en resultaten behalen geeft mij veel voldoening.

- Waarom geef ik bijles?
Wiskunde is altijd een grote passie van mij geweest. Hoewel mijn huidige studies niet meer rond wiskunde draaien, blijf ik mij er graag mee bezighouden. Bijles geven is voor mij daarom een ideale combinatie van hobby en bijverdienste. Uiteraard werk ik steeds op een professionele en gestructureerde manier.

- Ervaring
Sinds 2018 geef ik bijlessen aan leerlingen van verschillende leeftijden, zowel in het lager onderwijs als in het secundair onderwijs. Daarnaast help ik ook regelmatig medestudenten met leerstof, wat steeds positief wordt ervaren.

- Wie ben ik?
Mijn naam is Arina, ik ben 26 jaar en studeer rechten. Ik woon en studeer in Leuven, waar ik ook op kot zit.

Ik ben een toegankelijke, enthousiaste en open persoon. Dit helpt om snel een vertrouwensband op te bouwen, zodat leerlingen zich op hun gemak voelen en vragen durven stellen. Ze weten dat ze mij ook buiten de bijlesmomenten mogen contacteren wanneer ze vastzitten bij een oefening, en vaak blijven ze dit ook nadien nog doen.

Tijdens mijn eigen middelbare schooltijd had ik in het eerste en tweede middelbaar moeite met wiskunde. Hoewel ik het vak interessant vond, lukte het me niet om de leerstof goed te begrijpen doordat de uitleg niet aansloot bij mijn manier van leren.

Toen ik (op aandringen van mijn ouders) bijles kreeg, veranderde mijn kijk op wiskunde volledig. Mijn interesse groeide zo sterk dat ik later de richting economie-wiskunde ben gaan volgen. Mijn liefde voor wiskunde is sindsdien gebleven.

Omdat wiskunde niet meer aan bod kwam in mijn verdere studies, besloot ik zelf bijlessen te geven. Zo kan ik mijn enthousiasme doorgeven en leerlingen helpen het vertrouwen te ontwikkelen dat ik zelf ooit heb moeten opbouwen.

- Helpen bij het memoriseren van woordenschat op een leuke actieve manier adhv spel, online oefeningen en conversaties.
- Het opbouwen van een correcte zin, met oog voor de juiste uitspraak.
- Het leren begrijpen en analyseren van zinnen, teksten en opdrachten, zodat de leerling duidelijk weet wat er gevraagd wordt.
- Leerling helpen bij het maken van oefeningen, opdrachten/taken. Eerst samen, om nadien met het nodige zelfvertrouwen zelf aan de slag te gaan.
- Vervolgens samen verbeteren en vervolgens samen analyseren waar je de mist inging of wat er uitstekend verliep.
- Leerlingen uit het secundair onderwijs helpen bij het begrijpen/opstellen van teksten en helpen bij voorbereidingen van taken/toetsen en proefwerken.
Eventueel indien nodig: helpen bij een haalbare studieplanning zodat de aangebrachte leerstof vlotter wordt gememoriseerd.
- Leerlingen krijgt ook gerichte oefeningen/taken mee ter voorbereiding van volgende les.

Ik probeer de lessen zo persoonlijk mogelijk te houden en besteed de eerste les liever eerst nog wat tijd om elkaar op een rustige manier te leren kennen. Zo zorg ik ervoor dat we ons beiden op ons gemak voelen. Ik vind eerlijke communicatie zeer belangrijk. Heb je nood aan een pauze? Zeg het me dan! Op de basis- en midelbare school had ik veel vriendinnen om mij heen die moeite hadden met specifieke vakken, waar ik geen moeite mee had. Ook kwam dit andersom voor. Het fijne was om elkaar dan te kunnen helpen hiermee. Wanneer dit niet kon kregen wij bijles van een fijne coach en dit hielp ons stuk voor stuk ons examen halen.

School kan frusterend, overwhelmend en veel zijn. Als jet de juiste persoon heb die je hiermee kan helpen en guidence kan geven, scheelt dit veel stress. Buiten bijles geven ben ik ook Student Psychologie en zou ik kunnen helpen met plannen, faalangst, ADD/ADHD etc.
