Como historiador de la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana conozco la Historia de Colombia, América, Europa, España, Asia y el mundo islámico. Me apasiona la enseñanza y la historia como herramienta para el pensamiento crítico y he adquirido experiencia en docencia, investigación y diseño de estrategias pedagógicas creativas adaptadas a las necesidades del estudiante; permitiéndome hacer las lecciones personalizadas.
De igual manera, puedo realizar las labores de un editor/juez para trabajos universitarios, fortalecer las herramientas de investigador de las ciencias sociales y redacción. A su vez, estoy dispuesto a ayudar en el proceso de investigación de ser necesario.

Soy historiador graduado de la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana con un enfoque en Historia de Colombia, Historia de Europa en términos generales, y conocimientos en Historia de Asia, América continental y del mundo islámico. He trabajado como monitor universitario en "Instrumentos de Investigación" y actualmente desarrollo investigaciones y ensayos sobre historia, cultura y sociedad. Mi objetivo como tutor es acercar la Historia a los estudiantes de manera comprensible, crítica y relevante para su contexto actual.

En general, hago lo posible para que mis clases están diseñadas para ir más allá de la memorización de fechas y eventos. Fomento el pensamiento crítico a través del análisis de fuentes primarias, debates y ejercicios de historia contrafactual. Trabajo con un enfoque dialógico, similar a la discusión socrática, incentivando a los estudiantes a cuestionar, argumentar y conectar el pasado con el presente. Dependiendo de las necesidades del estudiante, adapto la dinámica de las clases para reforzar comprensión de conceptos clave, análisis historiográfico o preparación para exámenes.

History and politics have always been a passion of mine and I am very much willing to teach anyone who desires any tutoring. At times it can be very difficult and overwhelming if you need to make an exam or write an essay - I can be there to help in case you need guidance! The goal here would be to make you understand history better, organize patterns in your head and possibly make you love the subject! This should definitely help in either expanding your worldview, or enhancing your history grades. I am willing to teach history (or politics/maatschappijleer) in Dutch or English.

I have little preference in regard to eras or themes in history, but if you must know I especially enjoy political and military macro-history. The grand patterns throughout history fascinate me, with of course, attention to large events. No era or area is particularly strange to me, again, being able to process history is the goal here!

The grand goal is to get a basic, intermediate or advanced understanding in one of the subjects. I could, possibly, rehearse with you and ask you how fluent you are in the topics at hand. I am fully willing to adapt to the student his or her academic needs. In case you wish me to help you in structuring or writing a history essay, then this, too is no problem!

I completed the IB DP with a consistent 7/ high 6 in Higher Level History, and this has always been one of my favorite subjects. I am very good at this subject and have somewhat of a passion for it. I have a very good grasp of what is expected from the IB students as pertains to this subject, and I know the ins and outs of the criteria and the weird and wonderful little ways in which the IB expects the students to perform. I am able to help with any course work, homework, assignments, or assessments. As pertains to the DP students, I also did my EE on a History topic so I can assist there if need be. I am also a tutor in English and as comprehensive writing and legibility is a large part of what is expected from IB History students, I can offer particular insight into how to best write and get arguments across.
