Hello! My name is Catalina but everyone calls me by middle name, Anca. I was born in Romania but I grew up and went to university in the USA, and after travelling to different corners of the world, I chose to settle down in Barcelona, where I've been for the past 9 years. I'm very passionate about art, especially painting, and most recently I've started doing pottery. Apart from that, I enjoy spending time in nature, doing yoga, reading and cooking. I love teaching English because there's never a boring moment; I enjoy getting to know my students and learn about their cultures, and last but not least, seeing them improve their level is extremely rewarding.

I have been teaching English for over 7 years; I got my TESOL certificate in Barcelona in 2017 and since then I have worked in two language academies. During these years I have taught English to ages between 8 to 60, which included all levels (from A1 to C2), mixed-level conversation classes, and I have a lot of experience with exam preparation for FCE, CAE, CPE, APTIS and TOEFL. During the pandemic I taught classes online to private students as well as groups using a variety of platforms. I am familiar with using a number of English text books but have also often created my own material or adapted material to meet my students' needs. I really enjoy playing games with my students whenever possible in order to revise content, to get my students to interact or to feel more motivated.
