Through singing together we will strengthen your technique, stamina, and your love for singing! You will get to a relaxed and easy sound.

As I am regularly performing in professional musical theatre where you have to do vocal gymnastics 8 shows per week, I will be able to give you insight into what it takes to be a true musician, combining the technique with interpretation to truly make your song shine.

This is an online class, so make sure you have a device on which you can comfortably be connected in this class. If you have songs that you know you would like help with, that's great, otherwise I can provide you with new music as well. Have a recording device (like your phone) so you can tape the lesson and listen back to yourself.

I am a Dutch/American singer, actor and vocal coach. I have two BFAs (Performing and Pedagogy) from the Conservatory in the Netherlands, and I have been teaching professionally for 20 years.
I teach people who simply love to sing as well as Broadway performers. I have most recently acted as a Professor of Voice at the University of Lynchburg, Virginia, but I mostly teach out of New York City.

If you have any health issues that may affect your voice I can give you advice and guidance, special exercises , yoga routines etc - having suffered myself from GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease) and a resulting small vocal node in the past, and having dealt with various health issues - despite which I have managed to still work as a singer!

- Extend your range to at least 3 octaves (sometimes even 4!)
- Breath control and control of your entire range.
- Sing in a variety of techniques and styles- become a versatile singer!

My name is Denise and I'm a professional singer with a singing master's degree from Catalonia's Music College (ESMUC) specialized in Historical Singing, Musicology and Music Education.
My experience runs mostly in early and chamber music, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals.
As a docent or vocal coach I've collaborated with different academic institutions and private artistic projects, focusing mostly on international students or social integration programs.

During this class we will put a special focus on improvisation and expand the thematic of Level 1 & 2. During this course Davide will talk about all the most common vocabulary of bebop improvisation skills: Arpeggios, Scales, Diatonic Approaches, Chromatic Approaches, Double Chromatic, Triple, and the most efficient ways of studying them as a vocalist. The goal of these workshops is to improve our ears, timing, confidence and leadership as singers.

B) Neurogenic causes: organic voice disorders that result from problems with the central or peripheral nervous system innervation to the larynx that affect functioning of the vocal mechanism, such as:

- Spasmodic dysphonia.
- Vocal fold paralysis.
- Vocal cord paralysis or weakness.

2- Functional causes: voice disorders that result from inefficient use of the vocal mechanism when the physical structure is normal, such as:
- Vocal fatigue.
- Muscle tension Dysphonia or Aphonia.

These classes are designed for boys and girls who want to have a comprehensive approach to music through games, songs, stories and body percussion. It can be done accompanied by parents or guardians. It seeks to develop an emotional relationship with music, favoring individual expression and learning the basic principles of music, which will be useful later when starting to learn an instrument. We will do rhythm, intonation and ear training activities. We will use different instruments, taking into account those that the student has.
