I am a recent University Graduate keen to help students get the best results they can in order to succeed through their schooling career. I have worked in a Grammar School for the past 4 years during the summer, working with New Year 7 students to help ensure a smooth transition from Primary School to Secondary School.

Education

I attended the University of Sussex from 2016-2019 achieving a BA in the subject of Criminology.
I attended Townley Grammar School from 2009-2016, completing both my GCSEs and A-Levels there.

11 Plus and 12 Plus Tutoring, Numerical, Verbal and Non-verbal reasoning

11 Plus Tutoring for students who will be taking the 11 Plus in the Autumn, specialising in both test papers. My goal is to help students feel more confident with their test taking abilities in preparation for the exams as well as ensuring they are comfortable with the information that is covered within the papers, giving them the best chance at achieving the pass mark.

My teaching method is allowing the student to take practice tests in order to assess their strengths and weaknesses, focussing on the areas they struggle with whilst maintaining their strengths in order to improve their marks.

I am a Teaching Associate and Writing Tutor at a London University. I have been teaching History and Essay Writing to undergraduate students for the past three years. I also have experience tutoring children and teenagers to help them prepare for their exams (GCSE, A-Level, Brevet, Baccalauréat).

I strongly believe the student should be at the centre of the tutor’s attention and planning every step of the way. Every tutee is different, and I will always spend the first hour discussing what their expectations are, what has worked best for them until then, and what they are struggling with. If their attention span is short, I will make sure to both work with it by adapting my lessons and work to improve it over time. If exam anxiety prevents them from achieving the results they could, I will include regular mock exams.
I want my tutees to feel at ease and stress-free during our lessons, and making our time together safe and comfortable is crucial to me.

I have a BA in French and Spanish and a 168h TEFL Level 5 Certificate.

On an additional note, my business writing experience extends to writing case studies and basic report writing [based on my Sotheby's experience]. I have 15 years of experience in high-quality private tuition, and I am also a Lecturer in EU Politics at one of the world’s leading universities (University College London).

My main areas of specialization are European Union politics and political economy, but I also regularly teach all other areas of Political Science, including Public Policy, Comparative Politics, Introduction to Politics, Populism, Democratisation, and many more. In addition, I teach Economics at a beginner/intermediate level.

I can also help with dissertations and essays, at the undergraduate, Master or Ph.D. level. As I supervise and mark UCL students ' dissertations throughout the year, I am able to give you the marker's perspective and help you ensure that you obtain a top mark. My approach to teaching is results-focused. I first discuss with the student what are his/her objectives (this may be achieving top marks on a final exam, being able to undertake exercises given as homework, or increasing their understanding of certain aspects of a subject). We then devise together a work plan, to ensure that the student meets those goals.

This approach has been very successful in the past, as it is not only important to understand a certain subject, but also to be prepared for the particular type of examination or assessment that the student will need to face.

I have a Ph.D. in Political Economy from Utrecht University, a master's in European Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges, and a degree in Economics from the London School of Economics (LSE).

I teach either in person in London (ideally at UCL), or via email exchanges for written advice. Unfortunately I do not offer online classes.

In my math class, students will engage in a dynamic blend of activities designed to enhance their understanding and application of mathematical concepts. They will participate in interactive lessons, where fundamental principles are introduced and explained. Websites such as Maths genie and corbettmaths will be used to help the student understand every topic there is to know. Additionally, they'll collaborate with classmates on problem-solving exercises fostering teamwork and critical thinking skills. Hands-on activities and real-world examples will provide context and relevance to the mathematical concepts being taught. Regular assessments, including quizzes and tests, will be used to gauge understanding and track progress. My math class aims to cultivate not only proficiency in mathematical techniques but also a deeper appreciation for the beauty and utility of mathematics in the world around us.
