I am a 51 year old Cambridge University qualified Masters History Graduate who has a passion for History and English helping students deliver their results whilst enjoying the subject.

Teaching needs to be motivational and we use all methods - Video, Discussion, Debates and traditional text books to focus on delivering key results.

The main objective is to agree together "What good looks like" and plan stages of work to deliver that outcome.

A grade O level, A Grade A level, 2:1 Cambridge University (Masters degree)

Academic: English Grade B at A level and French Grade A.

My approach to teaching is very close to coaching as I keep in contact with learners between lessons(by e-mail or telephone) to accompany them through their language needs and challenges.

Moreover, I can offer classes in French too as I am as fluent in both languages.

Being a medical student, I am well acquained with the English language. I am able to tailor my approach to the student's level and will be using different resources to achieve maximum benefit for students.

I aim to regularly assess the student to monitor progress.

For Linguistics and Phonetics you will go through your university course assignments with me, we shall do "Chomskian trees" and we shall discuss theoretical points (eg GB theory, minimalist program). For Phonetics, IPA symbols and phonetic structures and theories (auto-segmental phonology and optimality theory). WARNING: there are many approaches to these theories, we shall go by what has been adopted at your university.

I have been supporting students in the preparation of the French baccalaureate, philosophy and history-geography for several years. Through personalized support, I help them acquire a solid methodology for the baccalaureate exams. These courses aim to overcome the difficulties they encounter in class as well as to allow them to gain confidence in their academic capacities and their ability to develop complex thinking.

LNAT exam preparation - I am a highly experienced LNAT tutor, having logged 120+ hours of teaching the exam (as well as sitting it myself and obtaining 28/42, 16% higher than the cohort average). I have helped students gain admission to the University of Bristol, King's College London and Oxford University via LNAT tuition, with my tutees achieving scores as high as 31/42.
