Piano and Voice for Beginners & Singers of All Levels

This class is designed for students who are interested in learning piano (especially beginners) or improving their singing at any level—from complete beginners to advanced vocalists.
For piano, the lessons will cover the basics such as posture, hand position, reading music, and simple songs for beginners. Step by step, students will gain the skills and confidence to enjoy playing music independently.
For voice, the lessons can be tailored to any level:
Beginners will learn proper breathing, pitch accuracy, and vocal health.
Intermediate and advanced singers will focus on interpretation, expression, advanced technique, and preparing for performances or auditions.
My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging environment where every student can grow, whether you are just starting with piano or developing your voice to the next level.

Lessons can be taught in English or Chinese, depending on your preference. Since I am a professional opera singer with strong experience in diction, I can also guide you in Chinese pronunciation through singing, which can be especially helpful for students interested in both music and language learning.
All lessons are customized to your level and goals—whether you are a beginner at piano, an advanced vocalist preparing for auditions, or simply someone who wants to explore music for personal enjoyment.

I am a professional opera singer and dedicated music teacher, currently pursuing my Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) at Stony Brook University. The DMA is the highest degree in the field of music, designed for advanced performers, conductors, and composers. It combines top-level performance training with academic research, pedagogy, and artistic development.
As a teacher, I am patient, encouraging, and detail-oriented. I enjoy adapting my teaching style to each student’s needs—whether you are just starting piano, exploring singing for fun, or preparing for auditions and performances. I also bring my expertise in diction and languages to my teaching, and for those interested, I can guide students in Chinese pronunciation and diction through singing, making language learning a natural part of music.
