Hi, I'm a Chemical Engineering student at Imperial College London. I specialise in tutoring High-school Maths, Chemistry and Physics, more specifically for the International Baccalaureate (IB). I am an alumni of the British School of Brussels (BSB) where I have also worked as a math assistant. I aim to accomplish whatever my students goal is, wether that be a 7 in HL maths etc... I give remedial lessons in maths, physics, and English for students of all ages, eager to fill in their gaps or refine their knowledge.
I have a very simple approach.
1. I analyze the subject of the student and denote the sections that I find essential to understand.
2. I think of exercises that can reinforce the notions required to understand the subject. These exercises are often both theoretical and practical. For example: to calculate the speed of a car, I will first explain clearly what distance and time represent in relation to speed, and once these notions are understood, I will give an exercise that puts the student in real life by making him imagining that he drives a car going at a certain speed.
3. I continue to explain important concepts / concepts through examples and let the student complete the exercises that I would have chosen beforehand while gradually leaving him more and more freedom and independence.
4. Once I feel that the student has understood, I test his mastery by confronting him with a more complex situation and asks him the solution.
5. We discuss his answer together and according to his understanding, I repeat steps 2-5.

As you can see, my approach is based on three pillars (the three E's): Listening, Exercises, Explanation

Currently a civil engineering student at KU Leuven, I offer math and science courses for all levels and ages. Whether you're struggling at school or preparing for the math Olympics, or nervous for the engineering entrance exam, I'm here for you.

My lessons are not focused on dry and indigestible theory, but more on the understanding of key concepts on the one hand, and on the other hand assimilation via exercises chosen according to the student.

The classes I offer are for students in grades 1 through 6 of high school. I graduated from Sint-Jan Berchmans College in science/mathematics, and I've just finished my master's degree in energy from UCL as a civil engineer, so I've put in a lot of hours of math and science. Having conducted international-level experimental and theoretical scientific research for many years (PhD University of Cambridge, National Physical Laboratory, Max-Planck Institute, KUL, and UCL) I offer tailored and adaptive tutoring in mathematics, chemistry, and physics.

My main focus is in helping those pupils in their final two years of school who are preparing for university. I also specialize in preparing students for the Belgian medical entrance exam by actually solving the problems of all the past entrance exams and providing tips and insight for rapidly homing in on the correct answers.

My philosophy is that science and mathematics can be related to each person's everyday experience. I try to provide insight and solid foundations so that students will not have to rely heavily on blindly memorizing large sections of their courses.
