About Me
Rob has been passionate about music since a young age, learning the keyboard from the age of six. Since then, he loves to play any instrument he can get his hands on (including Lyre, Digeridoo, Ukulele and Hulusi Flute...). At age 12, he discovered rock music and picked up the electric guitar.

Since then, Rob has successfully studied up to grade 8 guitar with Rockschool, and taught many more guitarists to do the same. He also has an A-Level in music, which covers from Jazz style improvisation, to Bach style four-part harmony writing.

Rob enjoys listening to, and playing, a wide range of musical styles. He has been teaching guitar and bass privately since 2009, and has also run online courses and published guitar instructional books.

More recently, he has been working in primary schools with a wide range of instruments (hoping to inspire a whole new generation to enjoy music as much as he does!).
Education
I have a Diploma in Guitar Performance and a Music A-Level. I have also been playing and teaching professionally since the beginning of 2009. I am constantly learning and transcribing new pieces.
Experience / Qualifications
I have been teaching privately since 2009 and played inn many bands (covers and originals). I have also written many arrangements of songs (including for string trio, and piano solo works) and have composed and produced original music.

I specialise in teaching private Piano, Singing & Music Theory lessons.

Having graduated with a First Class Honours Degree from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and continuing to study opera at the prestigious Royal College of Music, I have been singing professionally for over 8 years.

Through having this professional performance experience, I teach with enthusiasm and a sense of openness. I have developed a flexible teaching technique which I adapt to each particular student. I am friendly and patient whilst also being clear and concise. In our lessons I believe it is essential for the student to feel at ease, and therefore my main goal is always to create a safe and free environment to discover and try new things!

Perhaps you sing or play as a hobby, or maybe you would like to take serious steps towards training as a professional performer. My knowledge of singing provides advanced tuition to all of my students, whatever level or genre you may be at or would like to start working at- each one of my students have different goals and intentions we are working towards together. I can help you to proceed through singing/instrumental/music theory grades, also teaching the aural aspects, but I am also as happy to teach those who would prefer to sing/play/study for fun without taking grades.

In our singing lessons we will cover a range of skills, such as posture, diction, breathing, self-expression and the most important ways to take care of your voice.

I take great pleasure from my teaching and I work with pianists and singers of all ages and abilities. Please do get in touch if you have any questions and I look forward to meeting you!
