I have been living in Japan for the past 8 years.
As a native Japanese speaker who hasn't lived in Japan my entire life, I understand how challenging it can be to learn natural Japanese--or any language --on your own. I’ve spent years struggling with it myself, so I understand. That’s why I’m here—to help you experience Japanese/Cantonese the way it’s really spoken.

With me, you’ll learn things you could never get from a textbook or without having a native speaker around you.
I have 7 years of teaching experience in Cantonese and Japanese. I truly enjoy explaining and sharing knowledge in detail, helping learners absorb and understand step by step. I believe that improving little by little each time is more than enough to make great progress.

In our lessons, we will focus on:

Casual conversation (to improve speaking and listening)
Natural pronunciation
Expressing feelings and thoughts naturally
Learning vocabulary in a way that feels easy and not overwhelming

You don’t need to bring any textbooks—I will provide all the materials for you. But if you prefer to use your own textbook, that’s completely fine too.

I often worry about how to get started with English. I'm half-Japanese, half-English-speaking (Hong Kong). I was born and raised in Hong Kong, and I've come to realize that even if Japanese is my native language, I can't fully master all of the Japanese idioms. Because I can't live in a language-speaking country, I can only learn each word on my own, doing my best to learn them one by one. Language is more than just vocabulary; it incorporates many elements, such as culture, ways of thinking, perceptions, beliefs, ways of solving problems and making decisions, ways of speaking, communication styles, personality, education, lifestyle, preferences, relationships, and values. Language and language are complex.

In this day and age, AI functions are available for translation and even consultations, but the desire to "familiarize yourself with a language, use it freely as you please, and connect well with people who speak the same language" can often feel like it's not something you can easily understand, no matter how hard you try. I want to help each and every one of you move forward with your worries, goals, and dreams, even if it's just a step at a time. I will tailor the content to suit you. I want to support each and every one of you in your unique love and curiosity for English, and the person you want to become. I offer a course in Japan focused on developing grammar and vocabulary—two aspects that are both difficult and frequent—in spoken language. This course aims to provide an innovative approach to linguistic techniques, without being a theoretical or academic subject.

During the lessons, I combine the theoretical aspect of the language, essential for speaking correctly, with the practical aspect, which allows one to express oneself understandably and to interact effectively with native speakers, while maintaining a certain critical distance from both.

Thanks to my experience in Japanese interpretation and my stays in Japan, I can convey a natural and spontaneous approach to the language.

The course focuses on grammar, vocabulary, and writing (kanji). Starting from the perspective of a speaker of an Indo-European language, it aims to allow learners to acquire the structure of Japanese naturally, freeing them from any unconscious biases related to their native language.

I also pay particular attention to the link between written and spoken language – an often surprising aspect in Japanese – so as not to separate these two dimensions.

I am from Paris, I speak four languages including English and Japanese. I like to share my passion for my mother tongue as I did during 3 years in prestigious universities.

Since I graduated with a master's degree in Japanese language and civilization, I have been teaching Japanese to beginners and intermediates online, as I did as a tutor at the University of Paris 7.
