As an MSc Astronomy student, I work with mathematics every day, and over the years I’ve learned how to explain it in a way that feels clear and intuitive, not overwhelming. What I would say I’m especially good at is helping students who feel like math is “not for them”: I break problems down into simpler steps, show the logic behind the method, and help you build confidence through practice.

I have been tutoring for about 7 years and have helped students improve their grades, prepare for exams, and finally understand topics they previously found confusing.

Hi there :) I am Saphira and I moved from Austria to the Netherlands 1,5 years ago to do my Master’s in Astronomy at Leiden University. I started tutoring in high school, where I helped my classmates and younger students in various subjects. My main strengths have always been German and Mathematics. Since I began tutoring in high school and have continued ever since, I now have 7 years of tutoring experience with children, teenagers, and university students.

My teaching style is structured, patient, and goal-oriented: I break topics down into clear steps, explain the “why” behind methods, and help you practice until you feel confident. I’m especially good at helping students who feel stuck or think they’re “not good at languages/math”. We’ll build strong fundamentals and make steady progress.
